As they investigate the latest school shooting in the United States – Friday at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo. – one thing is clear to law enforcement officials there: The presence of an armed deputy sheriff on regular duty at the school was the key factor in preventing more deaths and injuries.
As soon as he heard the first of five gunshots, that officer and the two school administrators he was talking to raced toward the commotion shouting their presence and ordering students and staff to follow the school’s lock-down protocol.
As a result, Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said at a briefing Saturday afternoon, the heavily-armed shooter realized he was about to be confronted by an armed officer, and he took his own life...

Well, they should stop giving everyone a damned ribbon because it is creating a whole generation of kids who have no concept of what losing is... so when they get older and they lose a race/debate/etc.... they flip the hell out...
Notice the difference between gun-free schools like newtown and schools with armed personnel. In one case 20 min for an armed response. In the other, 80 seconds. Ok lib lurkers, try to justify gun free zones. How can you or anyone in good conscious advocate for leaving our children defenseless.
Every one of these nuts has been a passionate hater of conservatives, and on the ADDHD dope. There’s no way 15% of the population has a disease where the diagnostic test is a checklist.
Giving speed to healthy kids, sends them into homicide zone. The warning label is right on the package.
Quite possibly armed guards are the answer for the safety of our schoolkids.
I've read the suggestion of former law enforcement and military as volunteers, and this seems worthy of investigation as a potential a low cost answer. (Some training and evaluation might be in order.)
Perhaps armed staffing at random times and locations (unless and until full-time volunteer staffing is available) would be a good interim safeguard.

Many, many more innocent kids will die before liberals reach that logical conclusion. But hey, they are saving the state health care costs.
The left has gone silent when one or their own is the school shooter. When the congress woman was shot point blank in the head they dodged that one too. That shooter was also one of theirs. We need to put this one right on their doorstep and ask them why they, he is them and they are him, did this.
If you’d like to know what is broken and needs fixing, you might start by looking at the promotion of a Godless culture, promoting a consequence free life, broken homes, and government support for those unwilling to fend for themselves.
Arm all the teachers and admin staff plus the janitor!
If and when my local school district implements volunteer guards at our schools I will be one of the first in line. However, I won’t do it unarmed. If I’m going to be there I want to be able to make a real difference.

Calling for armed guards is hardly a knee-jerk response, and cannot be equivocated to a police state.

Well, our Colorado senate should have passed SB 13-009 last January. That more than likely would have prevented this nutjob from even thinking about shooting up the place.
Too bad the democrats rejected it.

So far I haven’t read that he was on any drugs or had ever been treated for any behavioral problems, just simply that he was obsessed with socialism/Communism and had a real hatred of the GOP, not even just the Tea Party or more conservative wing, but even the harmless dorky establishment GOP. Other students described him as “outside the mainstream,” and he apparently was fond of wearing a USSR (in Cyrillic) sweatshirt to school and verbally attacking anyone who disagreed with him. He had already publicly threatened to kill the same teacher, the debate coach, for whom he was looking on that day.
So it looks as though he has a history of borderline behavioral problems, but I saw one photo of him that might explain his ability to get away with it so easily: the golden boy in his very fancy, very new sports car, presumably provided by his family, who must be quite well off and therefore had given him the feeling that he was entitled to say or do anything he wanted, including killing people who got in his way.
His parents had gone through a rather messy divorce, and I’m sure both of them were busy plying him with toys and indulging him in every way in order to win his favor.
Bear in mind that I don’t know anything personally about the family, and I’m just speculating from what little I have read about him. But it sounds like they managed to create a perfect little privileged left-wing sociopath.
