The United States named a new Full Admiral in Washington, D.C. Friday--and it's an African American woman. She's will be the first ever female in Naval history to win a fourth star assuming the Senate approves President Obama's nomination. The Navy announced her nomination in an official release.
Vice admiral Michelle Howard,53, is currently the deputy chief of naval operations, plans, and strategy.She will serve as the Navy's second ranking officer, vice chief of naval operations, just a single step below the Navy's top officer, the chief of naval operations.

Engineering officers don’t have it easy. I was glad to see that in her resume. It would be interesting to talk to the chiefs that served under her during her shipboard assignments. That would be proof positive either way. Did they carry her? Or did she do the job?
All of those points being made . we may luck out and she could be great.
Of Course she will be confirmed, all of those points and one you did not mention assure that./

I did not see that coming. Your objection is her pigmentation? I thought it was simply because she is a woman. I will wait for confirmation hearings but I am sure she is deserving and we will find that out soon enough.

That is true. It is just a shame that back in the day the didn’t hire people on merit and had to do this. Of course now it has gone too far.
