Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has had the best year of any Republican and virtually anyone in the world, ranking third in Rasmussen Report’s new poll of the of the “most influential” people in the world, behind Pope Francis and President Obama.

In the new poll, Cruz, who made headlines for trying to dismantle Obamacare, was the pick for the most influential of 11 percent. The pope was tops at 23 percent, Obama second at 21 percent.

Among Republicans, Cruz was second behind the pope, with 19 percent calling the freshman senator and Tea Party leader the world’s most influential leader. Just 9 percent of Republicans said the same thing of Obama.

Two other Republicans on Rasmussen’s list, House Speaker John Boehner and newly reelected New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, tied at 3 percent.

As I said, people will remember Ted for being the only person to stand up for the American people against Obamacare.

He just needs to find ways to speak to the American people like he did during his protest.

My eyes are bad. At first I read the headline as “Pope Obama.” LOL

Anyway, I agree. Too bad this isn't about positive influences or Senator Cruz would far surpass Obama.

Hmmmm, let’s see….Cruz is ahead of Karl Rove, John Wacko Bird McCain, Lindsey boi Graham, John Boehner - not to mention all the faux conservatives in the media like Dr. K and George Will and others who were so so so slow to figure out what he was doing.

Leadership does rise to the top…...

“Not bad for a junior Senator.”

In my opinion, he has his sh*t together. With a little assistance, he could have stopped the tragedy that is taking place in America at this time. What were they thinking to allow this mess to take place. Even if it came to a halt now it would take forever to clean up.

Wasn’t the establishment in a tizzy over the shut-down and how it would hurt the ‘brand’? Amazing what standing to your convictions can accomplish.

this is why one true conservative statesman is worth dozens leftist republican or democrat politicians.

this is why you vote conservative and you never vote leftist.

There are two kinds of Republicans — Ted Cruz Republicans who stand up courageously for their principles and take action when needed, and John McCain Republicans who spend their terms in office doing virtually nothing but turning Congress into a glorified old folks’ home for geriatric narcissists.

He needs to get things done. He is great at speaking but a leader is able to convince people to go their direction. He has not come up with that yet. We are losing as evident by the budget bill that was just passed. We need a guy who inspires to do the right thing, not just offer speeches like we have now. He was unable to stop Obamacare or provide a conservative budget. He has work to do before he is Presidential Material. He is great for a speaking engagement though.
