Its a blow to political correctness. The Merry Christmas law that was signed by Governor Rick Perry earlier this year has made national headlines, and is now gaining traction in other states.
Oklahoma, New Jersey, Mississippi, Alabama, and Indiana have filed similar bills. Thats five states now that have filed some form of the Merry Christmas Bill, State Representative Dwayne Bohac, who sponsored Texas law, told KTRH.
And because its now law, Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values says your kids don't have to worry about being politically correct anymore.

Now if only flag burning amendment is in place, everything should be quite good.
I saw a sign on the local elementary school announcing the “Christmas Break”
Maybe the tide is turning...
I haven’t heard one “Merry Christmas” this year.
We did that in Texas so all can’t be hammered by atheists or liberal teachers anywhere in this state, for saying, “Merry Christmas”. No one can be taken to court for saying it or ordered not to say it.
Christianity is being attacked in this country and this is one small step to prevent attacks on “Merry Christmas”.
LOL, I say “Merry Christmas” to everyone who says Happy Holidays to me whether they like it or not.
I was in the Post Office the other day buying stamps. Told them I wanted Christmas stamps, not holiday stamps. Should have seen the look on her face, LOLOL.
Well thanks Gov. Perry and Tx but the whole premise is ridiculous since The First Amendment should protect against such nonsense attacks targeting a simple greeting as Merry Christmas. But its good to fight back whatever it takes to defend freedom.
We should thank State Rep. Pat Fallon for this law. He’s an up and coming State legislator in Texas.
Now if only flag burning amendment is in place, everything should be quite good.
I disagree. I don't support flag burning amendments...not on the grounds of free speech, but on the grounds of property rights. If someone wants to burn a flag, that's their property, and they can do with it as they wish. I may not like it (depending on which flag they're burning), and that's just too bad for me.
Everyone we know says “Merry Christmas”. It’s wonderful.
It should, but it doesn’t. This just leaves the wooden sign on the fence, and positions a neon one right above it.
As if our state governments don’t have more pressing worries. Funny, I thought we already had free speech.
I’ll burn any damn flag I like, just to piss off those who object to people doing as they please with private property.
It’s political pandering. This is how government creates a mess of laws.
The post office was probably wondering why you don’t understand that Christmas is a Holy Day.
I dislike it also when its written as Merry X-mas. Some will argue that the X is a symbol in ancient Latin depicting Christ but most don’t know that. Christmas is a 9 letter word with 2 syllables. Just spell it as it is for Christ’s sake. Pun intended.
Yes, I agree!
Too strict? Look at it this way. Our nation operated as I outlined for most of its history and Americans as a people kept their heads on straight. Only very recently with the advent of liberal-tarian freedom of immorality and license has America turned into an Authoritarian ANTI-Christian regime.
There is no void between good and evil. Throw out God, and evil takes His place.
I do the same thing! Every once in a while the person will come back with a Merry Christmas, almost like they needed my permission to say it.
