At this time of year I simply reply to my customers in kind; if they say, "Merry Christmas" I say "Merry Christmas". If they say "Happy Holidays" I say the same. It's not a big deal.

Now if only flag burning amendment is in place, everything should be quite good.

I disagree. I don't support flag burning amendments...not on the grounds of free speech, but on the grounds of property rights. If someone wants to burn a flag, that's their property, and they can do with it as they wish. I may not like it (depending on which flag they're burning), and that's just too bad for me.

I’ll burn any damn flag I like, just to piss off those who object to people doing as they please with private property.

Too libertarian. In my readings and ramblings, I have come to the conclusion that many of the Founding Fathers foresaw the United States as an Authoritarian Christian Republic. That is to say, only rights to which we are entitled are protected, while denying un-enumerated license in perfect harmony. That takes care of quite a bit of nonsense we have to deal with today on a range of issues, from abortion to gay militancy to gun/people control. For example, the SCOTUS struck down bans on sodomy, with some members citing equal protection. If it was clearly assumed that there is no right to sodomy, there would be no question of equal protection. I would happily vote to outlaw burning of the American flag.

Too strict? Look at it this way. Our nation operated as I outlined for most of its history and Americans as a people kept their heads on straight. Only very recently with the advent of liberal-tarian freedom of immorality and license has America turned into an Authoritarian ANTI-Christian regime.

There is no void between good and evil. Throw out God, and evil takes His place.
