December 13, 2013, 02:41 pm Carney bristles at 'Lie of the Year' designation
By Justin Sink
The White House on Friday said President Obama had "in a very honest way addressed" questions over his statement that individuals could keep their health care plans under ObamaCare, named by fact-checker PolitiFact as "Lie of the Year."
"The president, in an interview earlier this fall, took this question head-on and expressed his concern for those individuals, those Americans, who received cancellation notices and were potentially adversely impacted by or affected by that," White House press secretary Jay Carney said.
But the White House spokesman went on to jab the fact-checking organization, who in 2012 had declared the president's statement "half true."
"You know, end-of-the-year categorizations like that are always fun, even when they don't jive with past characterizations of the very same statement, but we're focused on implementation of the Affordable Care Act," Carney said.
Millions of individuals who privately purchase their health insurance have received cancellation notices about their policies, told that instead they must purchase plans that satisfy a set of minimum ObamaCare standards.
Earlier this year, the White House announced a workaround that allows but does not mandate insurers to offer previous plans. But it still appears that many Americans will be forced to change coverage.
Carney said that the White House was not concerned that the broken promise had come under renewed scrutiny, saying instead the focus was on addressing problems with the rollout of the law.
"I don't think that history's assessment of this period will depend on, you know, end-of-the-year lists," Carney said.
"I think it will depend on, in our view, how we responded to the absolute necessity of making the fixes to HealthCare.gov, the absolute necessity of addressing the problem for those who received cancellations and the absolute necessity of ensuring that we are making it possible for the millions of Americans who have so clearly demonstrated their desire for and interest in enrolling in health insurance plans through the marketplace that that they're able to do that. And that will be the test in the long run."
Slimeballs everywhere ought to take you to task for calling Jay Carney a “slimeball”.
He is really much worse, and does not have enough cohesiveness to actually form a ball of any kind. More like just a slick ooze all over the sidewalk....
But that is the primary requirement on the resume when applying for the job in a Democrat regime.
Millions of Americans will be adversely affected by his fraudulent claims and still the republicans in Congress refuse to bring articles of impeachment against him. Interesting.
‘It does jive but in no way does it jibe with past characterizations. This from an Ivy League grad.’

I was wondering about that.
Now that song from the 70`s is in my head, `Jive Talkin’``
I have one of the first comments on the The Hill thread:
Comrades, please understand that “lie” and “truth” used this way are obsolete bourgeoisie concepts. In new socially-progressive definition, Dear Leader Obama’s small white lie was “higher truth,” because masses were not yet ready to accept inevitable march of social justice.
Dear Leader explained this to AFL-CIO labor unions in 2003, when he said of course, single-payer National Socialist health planning is our ultimate goal, but it will take several steps and maybe ten years to accomplish. And look, dear comrades, ten years later and here we are! Glorious National Socialist medical rationing will soon be reality in new USSA, same as in people’s paradises of Korea and Cuba, and during best days of glorious former USSR.
And best of all, National Socialist healthcare rationing will be free of cost for good comrades, but bad comrades will be excluded by commissars working day to night in new ACA-NSA-IRS data hub fusion centers. Soon reactionary forces will understand wisdom of being good comrades and shutting mouths about “quality” and “delays”, if they want medicine or operation for wife or kids!
Welcome to the USSA, where good comrades will be welcomed, and bad comrades will be punished until they understand history’s march of progress toward true economic democracy and social justice!
Only in the District of Corruption.
satan bristles also.
Yabbut, now we know (more of) what's in it!
In so doing, conservatives can't try to impeach liberal, left wing, legislators like Harry Reid. That's a matter for the general electorate.
Nonetheless, the impeachment of legislators might be an excellent subject in the form of a Constitutional Amendment.
Obama? A “very honest way”? Since when?
I hope it not too late to get Boehner in the running. If you are for deficit reduction you should be for this budget deal is a strong candidate.
If you think a man named Carney was chosen as White Hut Press Secretary.. BY ACCIDENT..
You’d be WRONG..
Obama’s handlers laugh at the whole process..
And that George Bush resembles Alfred E. Nueman almost exactly.. (by accident) you’d be wrong again..
Cause the two men are handled by the same people..
Add in the Clintoon’s... and you’re beginning to get the picture..
The Coup D’Etat happened long ago... only a few are beginning to realize it..
If you think you’re vote counts.. you are indeed a moron..
At least the last three Presidents were cartoon figures..
Question; What are YOU gong to do about it?..
How did Nancy Pelosi put it? Carney can “embrace the suck.”
Carney bristles? Maybe he’d better get a shave.
“when they don’t jive with past characterizations”
Well hey, JJ....Dyno-Mite!
If you like your doctor you can keep him/her.
The average household will save $2,500 a year.
I wouldn’t have carneys job for all the tea in china.
To stand in front of intelligent people and tell flat out lies to them day in and day out has to be depressing.
How can he live with himself, knowing the he is paid to mislead people stupid enough to believe him.
In this whitehouse, jive is definitely more appropriate as in “that jive talking negro done sold us a bill of goods”.
Jay you are correct, for this size of lie it's more like 'Lie of the Century"!
