Sounds like an episode from the current season of ‘Homeland’

Rogue analysts? Without any permission from anyone in authority? To Iran? And we are supposed to accept this as fact because years later someone we don't know from an agency we can't trust says so? Pardon me if I am not willing to suspend my disbelief.
This is a Threat Matrix list documenting threats within and without. Anyone wanting on or off please advise.

Timing is significant - when a story like this comes out, it must be for a reason. In this case, the ‘leaking’ of the ‘truth’ about the missing American has the effect of absolving Iran - because no conventions protect spies.
So, I would say, this story is part of a rapprochment with Iran.

He must be related to some IRS employees in Cincinnati.

Well if he is still alive, the Regime leaking this information, whether truth or lies, does not seem to help this American to be free again, or to continue living. There is nothing but evil in this Obama Regime.

Hi Mesta
The question is what or who did we give up if he is released. I can’t stand that this is in the public domain. I hope he is already released. If not just one more operator thrown under the bus.

This article was reported beginning in 2010 while Goldman worked at the Associated Press. Goldman, whose byline also appears on an AP story on this subject, is now a Post staff writer.....guess Goldman needed material before the holidays

IIRC, we have given up an iranian terrorist but I can’t recall the details. Not to mention giving up billions in iranian assets we have been holding. Not to mention withdrawing sanctions. Not to mention allowing them to continue enriching uranium. And more.

I’ll bet this has happened a lot over the years
To: MestaMachine
Yes , as I recall we unfroze the assets the day after Lurch said we had an agreement which was followed by the iranian’s saying we were lying the moment after they were transferred to the caymans.
IIIRC are all laughing as they round up all the opposition groups we have thrown under the same bus.

FWIW, CBS AM news had a report about the statement. Their analyst stated that the family had been given $2.5 million dollars to keep quiet about his affiliation with the CIA. The family is still out there whining that he hasn't been released....hypocrites. The analyst also said that he wasn't "rogue", he was working through channels that don't go through the normal approval processes.
If I were Iranian, I probably wouldn't like or trust the US government all that much.
