Conservative activists are hitting back.
More than 50 high profile conservatives signed onto a statement Wednesday responding to both House Speaker John Boehners harsh words for conservative groups earlier in the day and to the firing of the Republican Study Committees long-time executive director Paul Teller.
It is clear that the conservative movement has come under attack on Capitol Hill today, the statement reads.

Love that pic. Might save it for those any occasions to come. And they surely will.
No the GOP is slightly less our enemy let’s not be silly the Democrats do not have a Ted Cruz etc.
The GOP does *NOT* have Ted Cruz.
The GOP *hates* Ted Cruz.
The GOP is our enemy as much as the Democrats. They have been co-opted.
“McCrazy and Romneycare were nothing but temporary place holders to avoid Obama taking every state even the hardcore Red ones like TEXAS.”
Well you are correct about one thing. There is one thing more stupid. That’s supposed “conservatives” who, after seeing the past several months since Romney drove the party farther left than it has EVER been, still bitterly cling to the delusion that their actions had nothing to do with it...
And then INSIST that when the GOP puts up ever MORE liberals for conservatives to vote for, we do that since ‘the dems are worse’
No. Whats worse by FAR is thinking you know better than Alexander Hamilton and the Founders when they TOLD US through their writings that it was better to have an enemy opposing you than in your own camp.
But you just keep on insisting we keep on empowering our supposed party’s leftism. Stupid is as stupid does.
So buck up and be a man. Start kicking a@# and taking down names.
“The man has been turned.”
Wrong. He was a plant right from the start. Infiltrate, Infiltrate, and Infiltrate some more.
Well Norm, you know that I fought in the trenches with you last year. We lost the battle early on, and could only wonder what would become of our movement after the Great RINO Hope lost the election.
Predictably, our side became demoralized and scattered. The bitterness and infighting that followed was (in my mind) destructive and unnecessary. After thirteen months there are still residual pockets of it remaining. We’ve slowly begun to cohere, but we’re still not the unified front we need to be.
Make no mistake. Our lack of cohesion is being engineered. It’s to be expected. We’re in a war for the future of the country, and the other side will employ every underhanded tactic imaginable to keep us at each others throats.
It’s good to see you. Sad to see that it’s only your parting shot to this community. You’ll be missed, buddy.
Windy
I heard ya, I left the GOP during Bush’s 2cd term. The national GOP turned hard left under Bush and is now as corrupt as the Rats caring only about maintaining it power at almost any cost. We have a handful of good conservatives in the GOP they deserve support, the rest can go fly a kite.
Hi Windy,
I’ll finish fighting out this thread but that’ll be it.
You are dead right that it’s engineered. And it’s obvious. Which makes it so freaking senseless that the GOP’bots are running wild pushing the same tired and proven to fail crap that got us to where we are today.
Folks, the Bots are all around you. Here and across the right wing net. WHY don’t you fight them directly? You can’t get through to Bhoner and tell him to pound salt, but you CAN tell all his little helpers here to shove their “we gotta keep voting GOP no matter what” bullshit.
How many slaps in the face do people need? Thank God himself that more many more people every day are leaving the GOP and going indy. Until we do coalesce OUTSIDE the mechanization of the GOP, we are well and truly F’d.
After today, I hate him every bit as much as I hate harry reid.
Yes indeed I do!
Anyone who thinks we can arrest this slide into MarxoFascism via elections or by ANY civil means has absolutely no clue what time it is.
We have single party rule - just like the Soviets did. The Ruling Class trots out their ‘candidates’ to create an illusion of choice for the people they are focused on placating into submission - and they install their ‘leader’ regardless of what the actually will of the people is.
I keep hearing ‘elections have consequences’. That’s bovine excrement - because we saw our last ‘real’ national election back in 2008.
If you do not understand we no longer have any representation in Washington aside from a few stalwart Conservatives like Cruz, Lee and Paul - then you have no clue what time it really is.
History clearly teaches that here is NO STOPPING this MarxoFascist juggernaut by civil means PERIOD.
The majority have a fatal case of Normalcy Bias and it is in the final stages for this body politick.
Looking back on this in 10 years, we’re going to wonder why conservatives didn’t walk out a lot sooner. There is no negotiating in good faith with individuals or within the system. It’s a waste of time. Working within the states is the solution.
How did Oompa Loompas get mixed in there? Boner doesn’t deserve that comparison. He’s more of a Whangdoodle, Hornswoggler, or a Snozzwanger
“The GOP fights its own base with far more vigor than it employs in fighting the Dims.”
And there’s a reason for that, and it’s not stupidity as we’ve thought for so long.
Uniparty
I hope that wasn’t an Opus in the FR Opus sense... I really don’t see that FR is loaded with Krauthammer’s. Just sayin.
You really should move. It’s come to that.
90% in DC. The other 10% are wasting their time. It makes no sense to bother with national politics. Focus on your state.
I don’t deny what you are saying.
Now tell me with a straight face that people who are too ‘whatever’ to make a principled vote are going to do anything but line up for the cattle cars WHEN that time comes.
Of course of recent actions are anything to go by, a number of ‘conservatives’ will act as capos. God knows they attacked anyone who wouldn’t go along with the ‘lesser evil’ philosophy so some of them already have the correct mentality for that to happen.
Does that offend some people? Truth does that.
