QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. - An Arizona man says he has found out the hard way just how to get banned from Walmart for life.
Joe Cantrell loves to ad match.
He goes through circulars to find the biggest discounts, and then goes to Walmart.
According to the company's website, they match the lowest advertised price on identical products, but when Joe tried doing that last week, the unthinkable happened.
What started as a trip to a San Tan Valley, Ariz., Walmart to get ornaments for his family's Christmas tree, turned into the biggest nightmare of Joe's life.
"I was handcuffed, humiliated and embarrassed in front of everybody at Walmart," Joe remembers.
And, there's a chance, Joe just may be the most loyal Walmart shopper you've ever met.
Joe told us he visits the mega-retailer at least twice a day -- once in the morning with his grandmother, and then again in the evening.
"I just love Walmart and that's why I go," he laughs.

I bet there's a few attorneys who would love to go to bat against them for this guy.
There is more here than told in the link. I am inclined to wait before deciding who is the problem here.
Back when I was in retail we would competitive shop the competition. But the word was out, keep away from WalMart, cause if they caught you doing it they’d have you arrested for trespassing.
Walamart acting like a Casino giving a card counter the bums rush.
He was costing the store money, but not generating customers. The EBT give away led to every EBT person in the area going to Wally world in hope of a repeat.
The former is a loss, the latter is marketing.
uhm,...
professional wrestler
complained to management
four days later, three deputies handcuffed him
I think there’s some information missing between those lines above....
Always is, but still, you have to admit that if he wasn't arrested then it couldn't have been worth the bad publicity Walmart will get over this.
Room for legal action here, since their ads almost encourage price-matching.
It doesn’t sound like he was just buying ornaments. Going twice a day, every day, for “ad matching”? People just don’t need that much stuff. I wonder if he was passing the info on to others somehow, such as walking around the store and telling people to go to the checkout and ask for the lower, ad-matched price. Which would be disruptive, and potentially problematic for WalMart.
My guess that there is more to the story here, but once word gets out, Bentonville will quickly rescind the ban and make fast amends to the guy. One thing that Walmart headquarters hates is bad publicity.
Looks like he was banned for claimed intimidation not price matching and that probably had something to do with the way he looks.
What exactly was he doing that they originally objected to?
Bringing in fliers from other stores with prices on them?
When I go to walmarts its the opposite problem, difficult to find help.
I call BS on this man’s version.
Go to any WalMart and you see people the ads from other stores, getting the discount.
I have been and didn’t think to do this, when the clerk says “that milk is on sale at Safeway, WM will sell it for their price reduction”
This story is just bogus.
Isn’t price-matching the same as shopping? You go to different shops in search of the best price or ask for a better price based on what price other retailers in the market are selling the product. Otherwise it would just be called buying instead of shopping.
Sounds like he was asked to leave and not come back and then he came back.
What?
WM will always give you the reduced flyer price from a different store, you see it all the time and they advertise that policy.
