Obama shakes hands with Cuba’s leader

JOHANNESBURG — President Obama has shaken hands with Cuban President Raul Castro at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela.
The handshake between the leaders of the two Cold War enemies came during a ceremony that’s focused on Mandela’s legacy of reconciliation. Obama was greeting a line of world leaders and heads of state attending the memorial in Johannesburg. He also shook hands with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, who has clashed with Obama over alleged National Security Agency spying. The US and Cuba have recently taken small steps toward rapprochement, raising hopes the two nations could be on the verge of a breakthrough in relations. But skeptics caution that the two countries have shown signs of a thaw in the past, only to fall back into old recriminations.

“Castro, he’s shaking hands with Raúl Castro,” said an excited Christiane Amanpour.
“As Christiane points out, President Obama just shook hands with Raúl Castro from Cuba,” Chris Cuomo explained.
Amanpour says of Mandela, “This is a man, it is so true, who brought people together in life and he continues to bring people together today.”

President Barack Obama decision not to dispatch any high-ranking members of his administration to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s funeral on Wednesday has peeved critics on both sides of the pond.

Holy God, what a slimebag. And here he is sucking up to commies. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is what we have as POTUS: A guy who celebrates a political system responsible for 100 million murders.
He hated Thatcher. Thatcher represented evil British colonialism, and was to be scorned.
He’d rather bow to a communist dictator.
