Obama is urging the world to act on Mandela's legacy by fighting inequality, poverty and racism. He says progress in the U.S. and South Africa mustn't cloud the fact there's still work to be done. He says South Africa shows us that we can change.

hon, the projects are all around me
I’m close enough to hear the gunfire at night
and last I checked, they all seem to have heat.ac and running water unlike Soweto
not to mention swimming pool, basket ball courts, free school, Boys and Girls clubs aka homework centers loaded with computers and tutors, free summer camp, free feeding programs year round
here in the historic capital of MD our newest projects are called Bloomsbury Square- all brick waterfront townhomes, hardword floors, all appliances, central ac, parking for 2 vehicles each tenant, lovely elaborate playground on the waterfront, even cute little tool sheds in the back yards even through the city maintains all the grounds
Soweto? I think not
It is. Just another facet in the “fundamental transformation of America”.
Detroit leads the way.
Dude - you driven through Anacostia recently??
You nailed it. Tire necklaces loaded with gas, is not the act of a peaceful man.
Gandhi, I don’t know much about, King and Lincoln were all peaceful men. Lincoln was extremely upset over having to go to war with the South, but did it to preserve the UNITED STATES as one Country, undivided. Never heard King urge violence. And that is the era I grew up in.
Sure did hear the commie hippies urge violence though, and remember the Kent State incident, where our gov’t fired on protesting students, who were not committing acts of violence at that point. Not must difference than what happened under slick willie and reno.
Have to wonder where the other thousands of troops were sent in that God forsaken part of the world, there were 25 countries I think, and our Troops are already over deployed, over tired, and getting wiped out at twice the rate they were under GWB. STUPID ROE’s get Troops KILLED.
That’s accurate. Four people I don’t like. Obamer should have put himself on the list, I don’t like him either. In one way or another, they are all socialists.
Did Obozo start singing?
“Anybody here-—seen my old friend Nelson. Can you tell me where he’s gooooone?” /s
“South Africa shows us that we can change.”
Yea, change from the wealthiest nation on the continent into your typical African hellhole.
“change we can believe in” for sure
I got projects all around me in Annapolis
wth would I go drive through Anacostia except to stay on 295 or Pennsylvania Avenue?
and dude, no matter how BAD Anacostia is, they are not shacks and sheds
they have indoor plumbing and their kids go to school for free and they get 3 squares a day, year round..... the folks in soweto would LOVE to come to Anacostia
no, in SF kids don’t go to school unless they can scratch up tuition uniforms and books..... learn about “public education” in South Africa by watching the shows about oprah’s girl school there
the closest thing we have to soweto’s poverty is in appalachia, not anacostia
Now that the old commie terrorist has finally died, I predict that the next 2 to 3 years in South Africa will be filled with all measure of atrocities committed in the name of Mandela. I would not even be surprised if a genocide of white Afrikaners was to come to pass.
Not even the Morgan Freeman version of Morgan Freeman is real.
I started to say it but decided to read a little further first, you took the words right off my keyboard. Eleven words exactly in the order I had heard them in my mind before reading your post.

According to City Press president What’s-his-Face was the crowd favorite. They just loved him. I bet he just ate it up. Loser.
Yep.
What? No comparison to himself?
South Africa is worse off now than it ever was. They have a massive brain drain going on.
Or on Indian reservations. "Coincidentally," all these places are Democrat-run, and have been for generations.
Marxism never works.
