I get a kick out of the ones who roll their eyes and look at you like you are being ‘extreme’ when you use that word...

They hold all the views and attitudes of dyed in the wool Marxists ... but for some reason, they cannot think of themselves AS Marxists. They are very sensitive about being called what they are.

I haven’t decided if they are ashamed of their views or if they are just plum dumb.

Go figure!

I read a lot of this yesterday. This moron doesn't really understand economics, or society, but especially Marxism. He keeps weaving down the line of "I'm not really a Marxist, but Marxism keeps capitalism honest", and "Capitalism has won the worldwide debate, but is destroying itself because it denies Marxism", and on and on with this tedious drivel.

He sorta, kinda completely misses the point that Marx's ideas were DIRECTLY responsible for 100 million deaths in the 20th century. The comments after the article are nauseating, died in the wool, down to the molecular level Marxists, agreeing with him or saying he didn't go far enough.

Simon views the social contract as the rich giving more and more to the govt for redistribution to the poor. However, the social contract goes both ways. He ignores the poor’s responsibility as citizens to get an education, get a marketable skill, be a good citizen, keep away from crime and drugs, etc. There are values and behaviors that allow you to flourish in our society and those that condemn you to failure. The lower classes openly and proudly reject the good and embrace the bad. The libs answer to this is to get society to embrace the bad so it is not held against the poor. That can never work. A society can tolerate 10% bums and 90% productive, but not 90% bums and 10% productive. That is where we are headed.

Even normal, everyday people say things like “Communism is good in theory” all the time. That kind of idiocy has been drummed into the collective conscience (maybe “collective conscience” is another). What sort of theory can be said to be good when it has failed each and every time at the experimental level? In theory, I could win the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

I agree with you. I’m 68 and still working. Hitler died the day I was born! The first time the o was elected I said it was to purge the guilt. The second time it appeared to me we are on a slippery slope which can only be altered with some level of cataclamic event.

There are two nations within our borders. There is The United States of America and there is Democratland. The United States has a Constitution. Democratland has a political party.

The Dems have certainly worked hard at cultivating and exacerbating those divisions. Now they demagogue them. Imagine my complete lack of surprise.

What they really want is Marxism with all the bells and whistles of Capitalism. They dream about transitioning to Marxism while keeping their crown high tech jewels (Apple, Boeing, Amazon, etc). The former will break the latter, but that won’t stop them from trying.

The first step is, of course, to get America to be a one party state (Democratic).

Do you honestly believe that it will be any different if a President Cruz is inaugurated in 2016? The two sides are so far apart in their views of what this country should be like that there is nothing and nobody who can bring them together. A Cruz administration would not unite the country. It would not moderate the Democrats. They would filibuster and obstruct every change he tried to implement and the country would be just as split as it is now.

” - - - having acquired the ultimate authority, almost the ultimate moral authority over what’s a good idea or what’s not, or what’s valued and what’s not - - - “

This is a revealing partial quote from the 3rd from the last paragraph of your thread article.

Author Marxist Simon ascribes to quote to “Capitalism,” but fails to provide the factual support for his hypothesis.

An objective analysis of what the data shows is that in less that 11 months the US Federal Government can be taken over by militant, Left-Wing Democrats, and a bill turned into Law that Confiscates 1/6 th of the US Economy, namely Obamacare.

Could “Capitalism” have ever done such a thing? There is no known evidence to support that.

Thus, the above quote can only be ascribed to what The US Federal Government is capable of doing.

The above is the reality of the present, active America.
___________

From Republican-Progressive Teddy Roosevelt founding of what later became the US Department of [Socialist] Education in 1912 to Marxist Obama’s re-election in 2012, America has suffered through 100 years of failed Marxist punishment.

Detroit took only 50 years to be reduced to rubble under Marxist Democrat and Labor rule.

How long will we tolerate the Marxist Democrat’s Obamacare as it too reduces America to rubble?

The answer to that question will define the future of the now passive, second America, the America of our Founding Fathers.

You need to run for the Brooklyn city council with that post as your campaign message. It’s outstanding.

Ultimately we abandoned that and believed in the idea of trickle-down and the idea of the market economy and the market knows best, to the point where now libertarianism in my country is actually being taken seriously as an intelligent mode of political thought. It's astonishing to me. But it is.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Obama Voter. :)

The rejection of the free market and libertarianism
is a result of the left’s foundation in humanism.

“Man is the sum of all things”

results in - “if SOMEONE isn’t controlling the economy, it’ll never work right”.

This is also a rejection of God, as He set up the rules of reality such that free markets work just fine without any human knowing all the parts or workings, just his own very specific sphere.
