campus police officer ???
Oh brother!
The article mentions a struggle so I am going to reserve judgment. For the cop’s sake, I hope there is video.
I am sure there has to be something else in between pulling him over and shooting him. One would hope but these days, we never know.
University officials describe him as having ‘extensive law enforcement background.’

Campus cop stopping off campus? How far is their jurisdiction?
Catholic college police officer kills student after off-campus traffic stop
CNN- 51 minutes ago
The officer has been identified as Cpl. Christopher Carter, said Margaret Garcia, a University of the Incarnate Word spokeswoman. He has ...
WHAT the heck does Catholic have to do with the story, CNN?
It was reported that this happened a mile off campus. What authority do campus police have off the campus?
Have a story that broke here in Pittsburgh over the weekend about a police officer who got pulled over for a DUI.
That could have been a momentary lapse in judgment, and to some degree understandable. But one of the local TV stations began digging into this cop’s background and found that he also had a prior conviction for INSURANCE FRAUD!
Insurance Fraud is a crime that requires a high degree of planning, scheming and premeditation. Not the result of a momentary bad decision. So how in the heck is this guy on the police force?
You got it....havta keep up the quota.....
We had a town cop shoot and kill an unarmed woman here in Culpeper, Virginia a few years ago. It took years to get through the court. I think the cop finally got some time out of it but not like he deserved for basically murdering her. We will never know the full story as she is dead and he ain’t talking.
People make a big deal out of cops shot in the line of duty.
Our militarized, trigger-happy cops are changing my sentiments. The no-knock raids, the shootings of old people, and children, and dogs. Some of these cops deserve just what they get as they break down the doors of innocent citizens.

No story here. Move along.
Cause the guy killed is white. Only victims US media care about are non-white or minorities of some kind.
One of my rules of life - anyone who has a gun is God, especially when you do not. Another rule - never smart mouth a cop - you are not going to win. Especially in the dead of night and/or when you are alone. Last part learned from experience.
I can’t judge until I know the races of the officer and the perp. That’s what everyone from the NAACP on down have taught me. If the perp was black and the officer was white, it’s a big effing racist hate crime and reparations are demanded. If it’s a white perp and a black officer, it was no big deal and the perp probably deserved it for mouthing off to the badge.
The 22-year-old claims he heard gunshots less than a minute later and jumped into his closet.
Off campus the “cop” has no jurisdiction. Unless the dead guy threatened the “cop” with deadly force, this is murder.
I vote for murder.
>The 22-year-old claims he heard gunshots less than a minute later and jumped into his closet
Not exactly a good response. How about grabbing a weapon and taking cover and aim.
They will kill you graveyard dead without any provocation and then announce that they "felt threatened".
