New York City confiscating rifles and shotguns
The Daily Caller ^ | 12/6/2013 | Patrick Howley

Posted on 12/07/2013 4:19:26 PM PST by Duke of Milan

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is sending out letters telling gun owners to turn over their rifles and shotguns — or else face the consequences.

“You have the following options,” the letter explains.

“1. Immediately surrender your Rifle and/or Shotgun to your local police precinct, and notify this office of the invoice number. The firearm may be sold or permanently removed from the City of New York thereafter...

I hope I would have the nerve to refuse and shoot back when the swat team arrived.

wrong...wrong..... wrong....

I wouldn't and you would NEVER shoot at a S.W.A.T. team when they get to your door.

You know what I read the other day that was really a page turner. It was "Total Resistance" by Hans von Dach .. I hope they make it into a television show.

There are some things that I would definitely like to possess, but since this is a monitored site, I must decline to state what those things are.

What? Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

A lose for one is a lose for all. And not all NYers are suck-ass liberals. Like I mentioned before.

“Come and get them”

Word is when the “assault weapon ban” (exact pre-”AW” wording escapes me) was first enacted in NYC after requiring registration, one owner responded to the “turn it in” letter with “come and get it.” They did. SWAT team, dynamic entry. The people who had moved into the apartment after the owner in question had moved out to Wyoming (or some such) were not amused.

Glad I’m not there.

If I were, I’d leave. Quickly.

You both make valid points.

But I’m NOT getting hauled off and locked up *indefinitely* as a political dissident. Which is essentially what all Constitutionalists are now.

I’m too old to be locked up and I will never voluntarily be a serf.

These people have declared war on the American people. NY gun confiscations are merely opening feints to determine if the time is right for the heavy stuff.

...I found that the NYFD regulations limit a NYC resident to possession to 200 rounds of ammo -

Heck, that's a weekend drive-by supply in Chicago.

BTW, the use of the word ‘shall’ is grammatically the strongest imperative. Not may, not will, not might, but shall. End of discussion.

Yes indeed. ( their problem is the word NOT. Too long and complicated for them to understand.

“The only reason for registration is to prepare the way for confiscation.”

Which means that people need to buy their guns from a private party or build their own gun at a “building party”.

Registration = Confiscation

(On the other hand, NYC residents are known to be horrible canoeists.)

And not all NYers are suck-ass liberals.

Not all, just the overwhelming majority

A lose for one is a lose for all.

Maybe. If some good comes out of it as in a learning experience for the most self satisfied self absorbed city in the USA then it's not a total loss.

OH and for the FR cop suckers out there who insist in spite of massive evidence to the contrary that "the police are on our side" Let's see how many refuse to obey confiscation orders.

"NY gun confiscations are merely opening feints to determine if the time is right for the heavy stuff."

Yes, these are merely the opening feints by the power craving left. FReepers instinctively know that the left schemes 24/7 to find ways and excuses to undermine our Constitution, impoverish us all, and if necessary, to incarcerate us all. It's for our own good though.

Rather than actively come to your house, and rather than wait for you to leave the house, they will ultimately simply wait you out. They will cut off power and water to your home and shut down any cell phone service you or your spouse have. They will freeze all your bank accounts and credit cards. Then, when you go to the homes of relatives and friends for help, they will do the same to them. Big Brother loves you, and all you have to do is comply. It's so simple.

The most dangerous man is one who has nothing to lose. When you take everything a he has, he then becomes that man.

Most people will curl into a fetal position. But a few won’t. If some of those few happen to have the skills and the “gear”, then a bump appears in the road on the way to the government’s total oppression.

I am of the opinion that if/when such resistance manifests itself, a sizable number (the majority) of Americans are going to throw their lot in with the government. 40% of the people in the US will be positively AOK with the feds taking out resistors. A lot of the remaining will either comply out of fear or simply (like some in laws I have) not care because they think they will not be affected. My BIL has “gotten his” and doesn’t give a good damn what happens as long as he thinks none of the sh1t is going to land on him. Which he already believes.
