It’s in your control panel settings. But the band-aid sounds like a good solution to me. Saves getting electrical tape adhesive goop on your camera lens for when you do want to use it for Skype someday.

I found the webcam application on my Toshiba and turned it on and the bright green light came on. I pinned the app to the bottom strip on computer so I could turn it on and off there. I have some small round band aids and will trim one off so it fits around that hole and is easy to take off.

As smart as I am, I had not seen that little clear plastic strip over that area at the top of the plastic strip above the screen. You can't see that area once you open the computer - that whole strip looks solid black. Had to get light right on that bit to see it.

Now, I have control over that camera and that's good.
