Gay weddings made up 17 percent of marriages in Washington this past year, the first year gay marriages were legal in the state, state officials reported Wednesday.
About 7,071 same-sex couples got married in Washington between December 6, 2012, and the most recent complete month of data, September 2013. There were 42,408 total marriages in the state during that time, according to the Washington State Department of Health.
So far, most of Washington state's same-sex marriages, 62 percent, were between two women.
Washington is one of 15 states plus the District of Columbia where gay marriage is legal, but few have the kind of detailed data Washington released this week, in part because gay marriage is so new in most places.
According to the 2010 Census, there were about 152,335 same-sex married couples and 440,989 same-sex unmarried couples in the United States.

You know what to do ...
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
VERY rotten.
If this is true then it says something VERY sad about the state of this Country, these days :-(
Considering the income tax marriage penalty and Obamacare cost penalty, it’s more surprising that 83% of marriages are still opposite-sex marriages.
Interesting, heterosexuals have stopped getting married cause it’s not cool while homosexuals are getting married cause it’s cool.
We live in a topsy turvy world, how confusing.
Hell in a handbasket.
This also says something about the State of Washington. But heck last year we had a woman marry a building in Seattle and a guy marry a farm animal out in the country.
This is the first year. It will probably drop off over the next couple of years to be only 2 or 3 percent.
Meanwhile divorce laywers are licking their chops waiting for the inevitable.....
They are more whacked out than California...guess it’s because Hispanics which represent a larger percentage of CA’s population still believe in traditional marriage.
Obama Admin marrying each other ?
Just watch. Five years from now the gay divorce rate will be higher than the divorce rate among heterosexuals.
I suspect that 17% is high and it will taper off, seeing that same-gender “marriage” (it sure isn’t the same sex!)has been legalized only recently.
Homosexuals push for “marriage” purely to be in-the-face of Biblical marriage. Many heterosexuals are not marrying for about the same reason.
I think a lot of those “marriages” are deviants from other states coming to Washington for their “wedding” and going back to somewhere, preferably Hell.
I read recently that 18% of Yale men are gay.
Of the Yale women 8% were gay.
Must be tough sledding for the sororities.

Kinsey would be shocked at today’s statistics.
His estimates have been doubled.
State officials reported ? I expect a correction next month
If the option arose, I swear to God, I would fully support and vote to seceed from these degenerate fag-marriage states in a split-second.
“About a quarter of the gay couples who got married this past year in Washington were from another state. The biggest number, 524, came from Oregon. For 170 marriages, the couples live in Texas and 155 couples traveled from California to get married in Washington.
In only 6 percent of marriages for opposite-sex couples, both spouses were from another state.”
According to the article, it is good for tourism.
We really need to divide this country in half.
