You must pay your first month's premium before you are insured under Obamacare.
Just because you've picked an Obamacare insurance policy doesn't mean you've got coverage.
If you want to be insured come Jan. 1, you have to pay your first month's premium by your insurer's due date, often Dec. 31.
Sounds simple enough, but federal officials and insurers are concerned that many consumers don't realize they have to take this last step and will remain uninsured. What's more, those who don't pay by then may have their Obamacare applications terminated, forcing them to re-enroll via healthcare.gov for coverage that will begin later in 2014.
The tight deadline and continuing errors with consumers' applications being sent to insurers also risk leaving some folks uncovered. Obama administration officials are advising consumers to check with their insurer of choice to make sure it received their application and payment and that coverage will begin Jan. 1.

I can’t see people having money at the end of December. It is clear that they did not have regular people who could offer reality to these folks. I could see the Democratic elites sitting around saying Deceber 31st is the perfect day to demand payment. Nobody thought that perhaps with Christmas ending a week before that money might be tight for a few months? They are only going to end up with maybe 10,000 total Obamacare people when all is said and done.

I would suspect that somewhere along the line people who really do enroll and pay the first month also give their checking account and/or credit card number and an auto deduct is set up. We’ve dealt with patients who have had cobra and tracking payments and verifying coverage has just been a disaster. Insurance carriers do pretty good with normal and usual but when you make exceptions it can be a real mess.
Anyone would pay for coverage based solely on a phone conversation ranks right up there with those who send their financial information to someone in Nigeria in exchange for sharing their lottery winnings.

You get your meds thrown up on your porch for any one to steal, 3 months before you can get your next supply, and U won’t know from where the drugs country is, or if it will be the same one U are use to! Lot of us react to certain drugs!

As I’ve lamented before, patriots and concerned citizens are evidently “fire fighters,” when it comes to stopping unconstitutonal Obamacare, not “fire preventers.” So if actually getting pounded by the “concrete” wall of the Obamacare tax tsunami is what it takes to get voters off of their couches and elect conservative politicians to Congress in the midterm elections, politicans who will fight Obamacare, then that’s how it’s got to play out.
Remember, if patriots and former Obamacare supporters can elect a 2/3 conservative majority to each House of Congress in the midterm elections, then Congress will be positioned to do the following. Congress will have the authority, under the Constituton’s Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes. This means that Congress will be able to repeal Obamacare without Obama’s signature.
But remember that enough patriots have to get out and vote to compensate for Democratic ballot box stuffing. And patriots will hopefully work with their state lawmakers before the elections to require voters to present valid photo ID before being allowed to vote.
