Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should s-h-i-t in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palins (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported vacation for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways.

And the rats will blame Conservatves for forcing Bashir to resign and will blame Palin for creating the situation that caused Bashir to act like a rat on crack.
They will never get it.
He needs to go back to wherever he came from? Is a transplanted muzzzie from Britain?
Martin, eat sh!t.
What if you used the acronym W.T.F. repeatedly or made jokes about "polls" being for strippers?
Owch!!
To tell you the truth, that Palin isn't perfect resonates with me. I like the "WTF" because it is an Americanism, local language. And "polls" for strippers -- LOLOL!!
Point to Pan Yan! Good one, and true! {^)
Makes me like Palin all the more, but then I don't care one iota about Bashir or his job security, as opposed to so many lusting for his gory demise! {^)
I think the reason is they hire him only big interview he did in the US was busted Michael Jackson in that infamous interview he claim he slept with young boys
It all shock thingy there
Yeah that only thing
And where is the apology to Sarah Palin?
Perfect for Al-Jazeera!!! No where LOWER to go than MSNBC EXCEPT for Al-Jazeera.

Heres the statement to Mediaite, from Martin Bashir, via email:
After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday.
Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the President of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.
I deeply regret what was said, will endeavor to work hard at making constructive contributions in the future and will always have a deep appreciation for our viewers who are the smartest, most compassionate and discerning of all television audiences. I would also wish to express deepest gratitude to my immediate colleagues, and our contributors, all of whom have given so much of themselves to our broadcast.
MSNBC will be issuing a statement shortly.
Update: MSNBC released Bashirs statement, plus the following statement from MSNBC President Phil Griffin:
Martin Bashir resigned today, effective immediately. I understand his decision and I thank him for three great years with msnbc. Martin is a good man and respected colleague we wish him only the best.
Hillary’s VP nominee?
I'd forgotten that! Geez. No wonder I like Palin.
And next he will book an appointment with Al Sharpton for diversity training and spiritual counseling.

NBC should have their broadcast license revoked for this statement alone.
These are our airwaves, gifted to the networks
What’s an MSNBC?
Exactly. That type of behavior should not be tolerated. The cowards at PMSNBC are cultivators of this bad behavior.
I personality I don’t care about resigns from a show I don’t care about, on a network I don’t care about.
Palin has a very quick wit.
If you care about the culture, you should care about this story. And why not celebrate a happy ending?
