Former Vice President Dick Cheney said he was surprised that his daughter Mary, who is a lesbian, publicly attacked her sister Liz on Facebook over her views on same-sex marriage.
We were surprised that there was an attack launched against Liz on Facebook, and wished it hadnt happened, Cheney said Tuesday during an event at the National Press Club to promote his new book. Its always been dealt with within the context of the family and frankly thats our preference.
Cheney declined to address the subject further, telling the moderator, dont waste your time.
The Cheney sisters very public feud began last month when Liz Cheney, who is running against Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., in the Republican primary, saidon Fox News Sunday that while she loves her sister, who is openly gay, the subject of same-sex marriage is just an issue on which we disagree.
After the comments, Mary Cheney's spouse, Heather Poe, responded with an angry note on Facebook that read, "Liz has been a guest in our home, has spent time and shared holidays with our children, and when Mary and I got married in 2012 - she didn't hesitate to tell us how happy she was for us. To have her now say she doesn't support our right to marry is offensive to say the least." Poe also alluded to criticism aimed at Liz Cheney for running for the Senate in Wyoming even though she hasn't lived there in recent years, saying, "I can't help but wonder how Liz would feel if as she moved from state to state, she discovered that her family was protected in one but not the other."

Poor Dick.
While many think he turned out to be a RINO, I don’t think he favored homosexual rights. And having his daughter turn out to be a lezzie put him in an embarrasing position.
What feud? The lesbian is having a hissy fit.
“Politics makes for strange bedfellows.”

Or bedgirls.
LOLOLOL.
Yes, Liz should hang in there.
She truthfully expressed her view in a polite way but Heather and Mary attacked her publicly to further their lesbian agenda.
Problem is, when it comes like this, he shouldn’t be surprised.
Homosexuals do not brook any “difference of opinion”, and it won’t be handled with respect or gracefully by the homosexual lobby.
If so, he should have put the country and western civilization ahead of the feelings of the lezzie daughter. Standing for something that's right when it negatively impacts you is what makes a statesman.
If he had done the right thing, all of this might have been avoided.
I think this “feud” is a carefully calculated move on Liz’s part to attract lots of media attention to her “conservative” bone-fides. It’s a political ploy.
So, Ms. Poe isn’t content with her partner’s sister being loving to her, her sister, and the children. She’s gotta throw a public fit that Liz doesn’t fully support a new legal expression.
It seems as if it was Mary’s friend, Heather, responded publicly.
LOL - Sam Cheney’64!
“After the comments, Mary Cheney’s spouse, Heather Poe,”
Bull! Heather may be her sexual partner, but Heather is not her spouse!
Reminds me of my friend’s situation. She has a lesbian sister, and the lesbian constantly holds the family hostage with her screaming, ranting, and demands for approval of her perversion.
Queers refuse to allow peace unless everyone around them is fawning over their sickening behavior.
i.e a "Sistah Souljah moment"?
According to the article, if I understood it correctly, Mary shared the story on her facebook page and added her thoughts regarding what Heather had said.
These full_of_themselves loonies think they are going to obliterate and repeal 500+ years of Judeo-Christian culture, customs, laws and religious traditions. This will never happen. They can have their silly pretend marriages (thanks to today’s political climate) but this does not mean we have to approve them.
