Detroit has been run by democrats since Jerome Cavanagh took over in the 60's. Republicans have not won Wayne County for president since probably the 20's. The democrats have run that city and surrounding county for over 50 years.
If you think that's the Republicans fault Al, then you are one dumb son of a bitch.

I checked around, and apparently the “top Republican strategist who suggested this was Mike Murphy. Definitely someone Karl Rove would approve of.

The notion that Detroit’s problems are due to the GOP would be knee slapping funny except they are serious. Somehow rats can control a city for decades, eff it up beyond belief, then have the temerity to blame republicans for their own failed policies. Detroit. What a xxxxhole. I would rather spend a year deployed to Afghanistan than a year living in Detroit.
