Dr. Bill Grace, founder of Grace Oncology in NYC and an assistant professor of clinical medicine at New York Medical College, told CNBC Monday night that the enrollment problems also are causing significant problems for doctors.
"Right now that back end is in chaos. We don't even know if we should sign up for these plans, because we have a suspicion that many of [them] offer very little reimbursement or offer a loss to the physicians who are going to see these patients," Grace told Larry Kudlow on CNBC's "Kudlow Report".
"No physician wants to take money out of his pocket and put it in the government's."

Sure would be fun.
The weather has been 72-75 for a week now, until the next few weeks.
This is the month people should visit, not June when its foggy everyday.
I don’t really.
Did come up with a great thins to say next time I fill out a medical report: maybe more than I should, not as much as I want. ;-)
Its easy in Santa Barbara County there are wineries everywhere.
I’ve said all along - Indian Reservations (supposedly sovereign land) need to get into the medical business.
Open hospitals, clinics, etc... free of Obamacare and the hairball that is our 3rd party payer system.
It will be better than Casinos - who knows, maybe they can combine the two. Come for a hip-replacement and get $500 in free chips....
In New York? The odds are in my favor chief.
I stand corrected that the odds are not in my favor.
Obmacare is cause chaos for everyone......read this excellent analogy of ObamaFlowers. Then pass it on to viral!!
Obama Flowers - Have you ordered yours yet?
(Receptionist) Hello, Welcome to ObamaFlowers, My name is Trina. How can I help you?
(Customer) Hello, I received an email from Professional Flowers stating that my flower order has been canceled and I should go to your exchange to reorder it. I tried your website, but it seems like it is not working. So I am calling the 800 number.
(Receptionist) Yes, I am sorry about the website. It should be fixed by the end of November or maybe December. But I can help you.
(Customer) Thanks, I ordered a “Spring Bouquet” for our anniversary, and wanted it delivered to my wife.
(Receptionist Interrupting) Sir, “Spring Bouquets” do not meet our minimum standards, I will be happy to provide you with Red Roses.
(Customer) But I have always ordered “Spring Bouquets”, done it for years, my wife likes them.
(Receptionist) Roses are better, sir. I am sure your wife will love them.
(Customer) Well, how much are they?
(Receptionist) It depends sir, do you want our Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum package.
(Customer) What’s the difference?
(Receptionist) 6, 12,18 or 24 Red Roses.
(Customer) The Silver package may be okay, how much is it?
(Receptionist) It depends sir, what is you monthly income?
(Customer) What does that have to do with anything?
(Receptionist) I need that to determine your government flower subsidy, then I can determine how much your out of pocket cost will be. But if your income is below our minimums for a subsidy, then I can refer you to our FlowerAid department.
(Customer) FlowerAid?
(Receptionist) Yes, Flowers are a Right, everyone has a right to flowers. So, if you can’t afford them, then the government will supply them free of charge.
(Customer) Who said they were a Right?
(Receptionist) Congress passed it, the President signed it and the Supreme Court found it Constitutional.
(Customer) Whoa.....I don’t remember seeing anything in the Constitution regarding Flowers as a Right.
(Receptionist) It is not really a Right in the Constitution, but ObamaFlowers is Constitutional because the Supreme Court Ruled it a “Tax”. Taxes are Constitutional. But we feel it is a Right.
(Customer) I don’t believe this...
(Receptionist) It’s the law of the land sir. Now, we anticipated most people would go for the Silver Package, so what is you monthly income sir?
(Customer) Forget it, I think I will forgo the flowers this year.
(Receptionist) In that case sir, I will still need your monthly income.
(Customer) Why?
(Receptionist) To determine what your ‘non-participation’ cost would be.
(Customer) WHAT? Your can’t charge me for NOT buying flowers!
(Receptionist) It’s the law of the land, sir, approved by the Supreme Court. It’s $9.50 or 1% of your monthly income.....
(Customer)interrupting) This is ridiculous, I’ll pay the $9.50..
(Receptionist) Sir, it is the $9.50 or 1% of your monthly income, whichever is greater.
(Customer) ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What a ripoff!!
(Receptionist) Actually sir, it is a good deal. Next year it will be 2%.
(Customer) Look, I’m going to call my Congressman to find out what’s going on here. This is ridiculous. I’m not going to pay it.
(Receptionist) Sorry to hear that sir, that’s why I had the NSA track this call and obtain the make and model of the cell phone your are using.
(Customer) Why does the NSA need to know what kind of CELL PHONE I AM USING?
(Receptionist) So they get your GPS coordinates sir
(Door Bell rings followed immediately by a loud knock on the door)
(Receptionist) That would be the IRS sir. Thanks for calling ObamaFlowers, have a nice day...and God Bless America.
All people have to do is read the musings of his mentors - Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers.
Bump
I call bs on docs and nurses want more patients from Obamacare.
Insurance companies want Obamacare because they have hostages for customers AND because the government is heavily subsidizing their business model AND because there is a back-up plan to ensure that they get bailed out in any case built into the law.
I’ve been in health care for more than 20 yrs; it’s a different story for providers. Providers refer to a “payer mix” of self pay (no pay), gov’t program, and private insurance. Only 1 of those three makes money. The trick is to have just enough gov’t pay in the mix to keep afloat against the no pays without swamping the ability to make income from people with real insurance.
The Obamacare model destroys that. Over the next two years, it will taint the insurance model leaving only no pays and gov’t sanctioned payments (losing money and breaking even). Every doc and healthcare provider I know (and I know dozens) are scratching their heads trying to figure out how they are supposed to make any money after all these changes take hold.
It’s an uncertain and frightening future. NOBODY actually provider health care that I know is excited about their prospects in the near future.
Volume is only better if you make more money in conjunction with the increased volume.
Oh we’re against Obamacare...but verbal shell game this Regime puts up confuses the daylights out of a lot of my co RN’s. How do we organize and who do we target? I imagine we’ll march en masse when we start losing our jobs or have our hours cut below the 29 hour minimums. The real fight begins 2014 pending the expiration of the employer mandate delay!
4 out of 4 Media "doctors" recommend Obamacare™
You, FRiend, are obviously poorly informed.
I am a nurse, and I know, personally, in the range of 200-300 Doctors and Nurses. NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM is a supporter of obamacare. NOT ONE! And that includes black Americans and notorious leftists regarding other issues.
The only people that are happy with obamacare are the uninformed or oblivious, or the people holding the levers of power. I can assure you that the vast majority of medical professionals, regardless of their Party or political views, HATE obamacare.
Not “my AMA.” For years now, The AMA has represented only a small minority of physicians. It’s membership is disproportionately composed of academics and professors.
My doctor just left his practice. He told me several weeks ago that he was aghast that the AMA sent people in from Obamacare to examine his practice for an entire day, going through his files.
Dems would walk into gas chambers if Obama told them to.
Obviously this doctor is very poorly informed and needs to spend 6 months in a re-education camp. Either that or be shot in the back of the head. Its all for the common good.
I'm in New York. I didn't buy into it. Don't make silly generalizations.
But I thought slavery had been outlawed! Maybe we could just call it indefinite indentured servitude.
“No physician wants to take money out of his pocket and put it in the government’s.”
Who did you vote for, Doc?
