And to think this museum didn’t get a space shuttle but NY and LA did. A crime.

I’ll second that. I’ve taken my boys and nephews to the Air Force Museum several times. It’s only two hours away. It’s one of the best places we’ve been.

Been my privilege to visit W-P and the USAF Museum twice - once in the mid 1980s and again around 1994 when I took in the Dayton Air Show. Saw the B-2 Spirit fly over that day for the 1st (and only for me) time. It was on top of me before I heard a faint whistling overhead. The museum is truly impressive, awe-inspiring, and humbling. The picture of the B-70 Valkyrie outside was the position I saw it in the mid-80s. By 1994 she was inside 1 of the main museum hangars. Of course W-P recently celebrated the Doolittle Raiders final roll call - the perfect place to keep their goblets. Godspeed and well done.

My wife and I got to visit this wonderful place in late June. One of the best museum experiences ever! If I lived anywhere near this place, I would be back often . . . way too much to take in during one visit!

Easy commutes today - light traffic inbound - Left early today for a dental appointment.

Our turkey was quite good this year. I was tied up in errands in the morning - Mrs. MacNessa ended up both making the stuffing and cooking the bird. She did a yeoman job - no surprise to me! We polished off th4e last of it this evening - a few scraps for Sir Winston.

We took John-Man back up to school yesterday - surprisingly light traffic. He graduates Saturday the 14th - big party on the way.

I hope you can get out from under.

Good evening, Connie, and thank you for the tributes to our troops. *HUGS*

Back to work...did you have a good commute? Not too much traffic?

Rough day here...non-stop problems, none of my making. I think I finally have most of them fixed. Still not done.

I was gifted to work at the base for almost twenty years including some time near Huffman Prairie. As I was going to and from I never failed to look over at the field where the first Master pilot was born. Wilbur taught himself through trial and error. He made the first 360 degree turns here and I suspect he flew into his own prop wash as I did later in my first hour of flight training. He practiced this over and over again in this small portion of the Prairie until he had mastered it, it seems flight training was born here also.

I am blessed to live only 2 miles from the base and have been there many many times. I have still not been able to spend the amount of time to properly take in all the exhibits. It really is a 2-day event if you want to do it right. And don’t forget to take in the presidential exhibit!
