Radio giant Rush Limbaugh is scorching the leader of the Roman Catholic Church for criticizing unfettered capitalism, saying, This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the pope.
You know the pope, Pope Francis has issued an official papal proclamation, and its sad, Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday. Its actually unbelievable. Its sad because this pope makes it very clear he doesnt know what hes talking about when it comes to capitalism and socialism and so forth.
Im not Catholic, Limbaugh added, but up until this I admired the man.
In the 84-page document titled Evangelii Gaudium, which was released Tuesday, Pope Francis called upon politicians to provide dignified work, education and health care to all citizens.
The commandment Thou shalt not kill sets a clear limit in order to safeguard the value of human life, wrote the pope. Today we also have to say thou shalt not to an economy of exclusion and inequality. Such an economy kills.
Noting that he had visited the Vatican numerous times, Limbaugh observed wryly: Believe me, it wouldnt exist without tons of money. Somebody has either written this for [the pope] or gotten to him. This is pure Marxism.

“Theyre Commonwealths. I was right.”
Yet you said: “They’re not states” and you were wrong.
It’s a misunderstanding on your part. “Commonwealth” states do not imply socialism, in the context of the statements that are the subject of the thread.
I corrected you, you lashed out inappropriately. You should cheer up, or your mother may send you to bed without any pumpkin pie.
Thankfully, the US is engaged in Free Enterprise, not capitalism.
“Yet you said: Theyre not states and you were wrong.”
Nope. They’re commonwealths. That’s why they are officially called commonwealths.
“Its a misunderstanding on your part.”
Nope. There is no misunderstanding on my part.
“Commonwealth states do not imply socialism, in the context of the statements that are the subject of the thread.”
I never said - or even remotely implied - that ‘commonwealth’ implied socialism. Again, you have a very active imagination. Care to make up anything else out of thin air?
I corrected you, you lashed out inappropriately. You should cheer up, or your mother may send you to bed without any pumpkin pie.
Well, I hope you get to sit at the big-boy table tonight. At the rate you’re throwing tantrums, that’s not looking good.
Here from the Commonwealth of Virginia, one of the 50 states in the United States of America - with both a stripe and a star on the flag, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
I’m glad we had this Civics lesson, and while you are pretending not to have enjoyed it as much as I, I can rest easy that you learned something today.
“Well, I hope you get to sit at the big-boy table tonight. At the rate youre throwing tantrums, thats not looking good.”
Wow. You really do have an active imagination. In post after post you just make stuff up out of thin air.
“Here from the Commonwealth of Virginia, one of the 50 states in the United States of America - with both a stripe and a star on the flag, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.”
I hope your turkey is real and not just a figment of your imagination.
“Im glad we had this Civics lesson,”
I didn’t mind teaching you. Hopefully it will make up for that public school education.
“...and while you are pretending not to have enjoyed it as much as I, I can rest easy that you learned something today.”
Oh, I did. I learned that some people just make things up out of thin air - as you so ably demonstrated.
Learn to discuss ideas and not the character of people who express them.
"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."
You unthinkingly accuse Rush of something he never said. Rush quoted the Pope's use of Unfettered Capitalism, then declared that unfettered capitalism does not exist anywhere.
Pick on the one that said it, that would be the Pope, unless of course truth does not advance your agenda.
Nothing is absolutely pure but 99&44/100ths pure is close.
Period. Just to be honest second and third reports are usually blatant lies.
For those that do not understand the Topic, the Isim's I was referring to were of the political nature.
But feel free to divert from the real topic, The Pope is a Commie.
I always discuss ideas you are the one who is obsessed with Rush hatred for some reason, and for some reason, has your teeny brain stuck in books and not in reality.
Have you noticed that those States represented by a stripe are largely in love with Democratic Socialism?
I guess that explains the dump on Rush you are promulgating.
From post #63 of this thread.
I don't know what Rush said for sure.
Please don't take this personally itsahoot, but I'm out of this thread.
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody who recognizes this holiday.
Wow, so when you’re proven wrong you accuse others of diverting the topic. You made a claim. It was wrong. End of story.
Clever! No, that explains personal attacks on anyone who questions this godlike radio agitator’s bombastic claims, because that’s my concern not the person spouting them. The rabid fans of celebrities cannot discern the difference, oh well.
Kind of like rabid fans of the Pope.
Kind of like rabid fans of Eddy von Helen, Jimmy Hendricks, Pat Benatar, and I suppose Chubby Checker.
Apply for one of those for your vehicle, even if it is a tricycle. It comes in handy. Inability to discuss ideas and resorting to personal insults and attacks is a real handicap.
If I were to say (write) "the sky looks purplish today" the handicapped would be incapable of arguing with the observation or even remarking that the word 'purplish' doesn't appear in the dictionary. No, they would immediately say YOU ARE this or that, YOU DO (or DON'T) such and such, YOUR TINY BRAIN, etc, etc. Anything to define the person saying something about the sky or whatever, and define him as inferior to the definer. Then, they would allege on the basis of nothing, no evidence that my brain is stuck in books, they would amateurishly psychologize and issue ridiculous diagnoses, and they would accuse me of hating their beloved radio personality who spouts bombastic nonsense the godlike Harold Camping.
