This is true at the place where I have my oil changed also. Asked them why and they said CNN provided the TV and it’s part of the agreement their corporation signed with CNN. On this particular set all the other channels were blocked off. One of the other guys in the waiting room got up, turned it off and said somebody else could turn it back on after he left.

He wanted to turn FOX off but I and two others said we were watching it to which he stormed outside shouting how he will wait outside as he can’t watch Fox.
The whole waiting room erupted with laughter especially seeing him sulk on the steps outside .
I was in Houston in a hospital waiting room and Obama came on the TV. Most people shook their head in disgust and went to another waiting room.
