I was in Houston in a hospital waiting room and Obama came on the TV. Most people shook their head in disgust and went to another waiting room.

You know, you have to wonder what percentage of their “viewers” are TV sets glued to CNN and left on 24 hours a day at gyms, airports, cafeterias and stuff like that where it is just background noise, nobody is really watching.

” they always have CNN on. “

Go to any international airport stateside, and this garbage is on. That’s why travelers have their own laptops or Ipad to get their news which is faster when it comes to breaking news. I would rather stick my face up Moochelle obama’s fat ass than listen to one minute of CNN.

CNN was off 54 percent in total viewers

And they probably count anyone who walks through an airline terminal as a "viewer".

Exactly but I think it’s a greater majority of all people are getting information from the Internet. I cancelled cable over a year ago and now get everything I want from the Internet. Streaming movies, TV shows, music, news, and no commercials to deal with.

All of this is also accessible from a smart phone, tablet, or laptop which means I can tap into anything I want without being stuck at a TV set and I choose what I want to view or listen to when I want.

Initially I cancelled cable because times are tough and I needed to cut expenses but even if I could afford it now I’d never hook it back up.

On a final note, I don’t even use the Internet to visit any of the stations mentioned. These so called news stations don’t deliver news at all anymore. It’s like going to MTV to hear music. Much like MTV doesn’t deliver music anymore, these news stations don’t actually deliver the news. It’s all propaganda, twisted facts, outright lies, and a ton of drama.

One of our conservative talkers had a guest on and they mentioned MSNBC and their disgusting behaviors. Guest said "...but they make money."

I can't imagine how, although they borrow NBC's orginal work, so it's mostly just talent fees and they probably don't pay well.

Locally, the Gannet NBC affiliate in Phoenix is moving away from news on their main evening newscast. Main anchors work Sunday, rather than Friday (not a bad idea there), but promos for evening news are "relaxed, hip, we know you don't want all that bad news". Throwing in the towel. Fine by me. I haven't watched in 15 years anyway.

My question is where people ARE getting their news instead of these sources. If they’re getting the news off of online Obama shills it’s just as bad as if they got it from on-air Obama shills...

I think a concurrent trend is that people are generally tuning out on the news, particularly that relating to politics. We tend to forget that since we’re very attuned to politics and the news at FR it doesn’t mean that the rest of the population is all that interested.

NBC To Win November Sweep, But TV Networks’ Ratings Down Overall
by Wayne Friedman, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 11:38 AM

NBC is on the verge of winning the November TV viewing prime-time period for the second time in two years. But overall, the month still doesn’t offer much good news for any English-speaking broadcast network.

By many viewing metrics, networks have lost ground — and it’s just two days from the end of Nielsen’s November reporting period.

NBC is down 7% to a 2.6 rating among 18-49 viewers when looking at Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day viewing metrics. CBS is off 8% to a 2.2 average rating; ABC is down 9% to a 2.0 number; and Fox has lost 23% to a 1.7 rating.

Ratings have been dropping like a rock for the past 60 years

In fact, the idiots have lost more than 80 percent of their market over that time, and the results would be far more grim than that without sports broadcasts. And still they persist in making a statement, advancing their libtard agendas, and making excuses.

CNN and MSNBC should be thankful for airport terminals and nursery homes.

The technology for original production has become cheaper. Distribution and release costs are still about the same. There’s still a limited number of competent writers, directors, and actors, and effects work is still expensive. The primary limiting factor is that there’s no system for producing an income from mid-sized budget features. Folks will pay money to see a film in a theater, TV will cover production costs for their features because they can recoup them through advertising, but there’s no financial model that’ll produce an income from a half-million dollar film that’s not mass market. Direct to net in some kind of organized pay-per-view model might eventually be the key. NetFlix is also doing some innovation in the field of in-house production.

The big breakthrough’s going to come when we get to somewhere around 80% broadband penetration and cable dies. Then you’ll be able to make your film, put it on the server with an evolving pricetag, and pocket most of the income.
