“How about we make contraceptives MANDATORY for anyone on the government teat.”

A long time ago my husband and I decided it would be good if every person were steralized at birth. When/if the time came when they could prove themselves responsible, financially and otherwise, reverse the procedure.

It’s not Roberts’ job to judge whether or not the law was good or bad. It was his job to judge whether or not the law was constitutional.

And who gets to decide that you are responsible, financially and otherwise? The government I guess?

Hideous idea.

yes, that’s a nice little theory in a vacuum that clearly is not how things really play out.

The Supremes have already ruled in Citizens United vs FEC that corporations are people and have first amendment rights to free speech. They can't turn around now and say that corporations aren't people that have first amendment rights to freedom of religion in order to prop up obamneycare, not without overturning their own previous CU vs FEC rationalization.

Roberts will pull an "emanations of the penumbra of the magic unicorn" out of his arse however.

He had no right thinking the law was good or bad. His job is to decide if the law is in keeping with the Constitution. I don’t know what happens to people when they are given a black robe. Why on earth would they think their opinion matters in anything other than does the law keep faith with our founding documents.

I agree with all of that….because he clearly perverted the law itself, and the Constitution, to figure out a way to make it seem Constitutional, becuase he clearly thought it was good and wanted to be on the right side of history. Now, I think, he realizes how awful it is, and desperately wants to be out of the wrong side of history, and will do whatever, including perverting the Constitution again, to end it, if need be.

Guess it’s time to rethink your theory. Don’t know how
much Roberts has to do with this but we got screwed again.
