At the 2013 Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony held in the East Room of the White House, 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama chose to honor more than just a few 'winners.' The colorful collection was a cacophony of politically correct Democrat darlings, with a journalist, a RINO, two deceased homosexuals, a few Latinos, and an occasional black sports figure thrown in for good measure.
In addition to the eclectic array of 13 relatively benign forgers of freedom, three controversial awards also went to a race-baiting billionaire, a misogynist former president, and an abortion-supporting, man-hating women's rights activist.
It was three centuries ago that English Bible commentator and Presbyterian minister Matthew Henry wrote that "The wickedness of a people is great indeed when noted sinners are men renowned among them." Henry's words sum up why Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and Gloria Steinem ended up being commended by the president.
As for Bill Clinton, there's no arguing that the 42nd president of the United States is a "noted sinner." Even still, the often-dishonorable Honorable Bill Clinton does deserve a medal. First for criticizing the current president's handling of the Obamacare debacle, and then for allowing the guy he critiqued to approach his neck with something that could easily double as noose.
Clinton may not have realized it, but if the one doing the tying were to express his true feelings towards the honoree, the former president might have found himself in the posthumous category.
Nonetheless, dead presidents and award ceremonies aside, the problem with Bill Clinton is that he's like a Whac-A-Mole- he pops up all over the place, and even walloping him on the head with a rubber mallet probably wouldn't get him to stop butting in.

When you see Dick Luger R-was Indiana, but didn’t live there get one, you know the fix was in.
Kind of like “everyone gets a ribbon.”
Anything to take the spotlight from the gutless weasels at 1600 Penn. Ave. And their foreign affairs and domestic debacles.. FRom Benghazi to the Middle East and ObamaCare as well, show me your successes, not your excesses, in and from accepting responsibility for running the most corrupt admistra.. Regime ever to hoist its ‘standard’ on these shores. A standard of surrender.
Did Gloria Steinem really wear a T-Shirt saying “I Had An Abortion”? Wow. Most women I know would not walk around boasting about having made such a private decision. I guess anything for fame and notoriety, right?
"In the end, after all is said and done, the only one missing from the day's festivities was MSNBC Palin-basher Martin Bashir. But even without Bashir, the Medal of Freedom is just another example of how everything from a college degree to the office of the president is now represented by grossly unexceptional people, or in this case, lying adulterers, ardent abortionists, and race baiters."
They are so unbelievably without standards, dignity or a sense of decency. Everything this guy and his people touch turns to poo. No reason why this should be an exception. The dregs of society are running our country.

the entertainment industry is the pinnacle of moral poverty and abuse you go girl
I guess one could do worse than Oprah, to be fair to her.
She is not a porn queen. Today that says a lot for character.
yeah being a fat black chick saved her
You are so right with your post regarding 0bama and his administration, no dignity or sense of decency.
Bump.
Well she DID try to diet. It even worked, for a while.
Cheapest shot of the week. Sally Ride never claimed to be homosexual in her lifetime. She deserves to be remembered for her achievement, not as some gay milestone. Denigrating her as a "deceased homosexual" rather than as an astronaut is as bad worse than honoring her as a lesbian, an identity she never acknowledged publicly.
Bayard Rustin was a distinguished civil rights leader who deserved the reward on the basis of his achievements. Though he started out as a radical he ended up (for better or worse) something of a neocon. He also deserves to be remembered as more than some publicity-hungry blogger's cheap shot.
As always these awards are a mixed bag. A lot of politics and pandering goes into the choices. But I can't see running down everyone on the list because you don't like a few of the honorees.
Yup, she did. These people are vile. (pic at link)
For the record, I love this article exposing the farce of who qualifies for this honor under Obamas standards. Well done Ms DeAngelis, well done.
It was the awards presentation ceremony which presented Sally Ride as an inspiration to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community. You should cite them and not the blogger.
Sally Ride can be remembered as the third woman in Space and the first American in Space but the script at the White House had it otherwise.
