A major GOP donor who told Breitbart News Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made disparaging remarks about the Tea Party movement and about Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) continues to stand by his original story after claims that the reports were not accurate.
This individual reported that on the Oct. 30 fundraising call American Crossroads Karl Rove and Steven J. Law held with McConnell, McConnell specifically talked about Mike Lee by name, specifically talked about Ted Cruz by name, and he specifically talked about the Tea Party by name, the donor told Breitbart News in response to a story Roves and McConnells teams have purported shows otherwise.
That story, published by Charlie Spiering at The Washington Examiner earlier on Friday, confirms that McConnell criticized conservative groups who supported the plan to defund Obamacare and that he also criticized those conservatives who are now actively working to defeat him in Kentucky. The article adds that McConnell repeatedly mentioned the Senate Conservatives Fund by name.
Spiering, who says he was exclusively provided a 27-minute audio file of the call, reports that McConnell did, as Breitbart News source said, talk about dealing with conservative schoolyard bullies by punching them in the nose. While the article states those specific remarks were made explicitly about the Senate Conservatives Fund, he also reports that on the call Senator McConnell criticized other conservative groups who supported the plan to defund Obamacare. However, the Tea Party is certainly the pre-eminent conservative group that spearheaded, along with Senators Cruz and Lee, the plan to defund Obamacare.
In response to the Washington Examiner's report, Breitbart News source also noted that McConnells comments at the Senate Conservatives Fund were in a broader context of an attack on the movement.

A most excellent idea. I will do the same. He'll ignore us, but it will be fun :)
Reid took him to the cleaners. McConnell had it handed to him. It was humiliating. Unlike the GOP, the Dems are fearless and ruthless practitioners of power politics. They are aggressively pursuing long-term goals which the GOP doesn’t even have. The Dems are always on offense; the GOP is always on defense, or worse yet, don’t even show up for the game. Can anyone even name the GOP’s long-term goals? No—because they don’t have any.
“Even if mcconnell wins the primary he has burnt his bridge to winning the general.”
He doesn’t care. His goal now is to win his primary, to prevent another conservative from getting nominated and possibly getting into the senate. If he wins, great. But if he loses, at least it will be to a democrat.
This is how they think! They either decide to retire themselves or be taken out by a democrat. Those are the two only possible options and are the natural order of things. The idea that the people could possibly choose another REPUBLICAN! is abhorrent to them. That’s why you never see these defeated moderates endorsing the conservative victor, for they’d rather the democrat win. But by God if a moderate is the victor, the conservative MUST support him “for the good of the party.” (see Specter and Toomey in 2004).
Once you understand that their goal is to prevent conservatives from getting into the senate, every action becomes clear. Conservatives and conservatism must never have any victories, because that means the end of the gravy train.
For your bloated ego alone I want you gone.
You? You are gonna punch us?
You pathetic, paleo-man.
You, cannot win without us.
Our numbers grow, which means yours shrink...like everything manly about you in a bath of ice water..
If I were still a Kentuckian, I would ditch McC in the primary and then leave the slot vacant in November. And I voted for McC in 1984.
Buh bye, McCornhole.
This time they are wrong. Mitch (Harry's Bitch) obviously expects us to roll over come election day.
The Republican Primary will determine the next senator from Kentucky. Bevin or Grimes will be the next senator. That is it. And that will largely be McConnell's call.
I would give a day's pay to be able to meet McConnell in person and politely say to him, "Senator, your spineless hypocrisy disgusts those of us with moral compasses".
We’re taking you down, Mitch, and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it.
My 87-year old mother could kick his butt.
‘course, she’s not in a wheelchair.
I get so tired of the smarty-pants who say they're going to re-register as Independents or something else. In doing so they give away their clout and say-so to have any influence in a conservative winning the primary.
The primary is where it's at, folks.
