...older people will often pay much more than younger people.

Now consider how much Obamacare already limits the true expenses on older people and pushes those costs onto the young. I heard (sorry, don't have the citation) that the maximum insurance price for age is limited to three times the minimum, while actual costs for old people's medical care is closer to ten times young adults' costs. I would be interested in finding out what age is the crossover point between being subsidized and overpaying for Obamacare.

For instance, the premiums for gold-level Aetna HMO plans in D.C. cost an average of $684.40 per month for a 55-year-old. A similar plan would cost an average of $287.11 for a 27-year-old. The gold-level CareFirst HMO plans have an average premium of $573.07 for a 55-year-old — more than double the $240.41 average for 27-year-olds. That’s before the federal employee contribution toward the premium.

Actually that's not horrifying. Between me and my employer, my insurance is just over $400 per month and I'm in my late forties.

It’s not complicated. This is socialized medicine. The scheme is funded by forcing people to pay for a bunch of stuff they don’t need.

Ta emphasized that “employees are not dissatisfied with the Affordable Care Act” and that some younger staffers have seen their premiums fall.

Then why complain? They're getting just what they want.

You don’t think the insurance companies cut this deal with Obama expecting to lose money, did you?
