I am going to Home Depot to buy a hard hat, a bright yellow one.
$10, seriously.
Just think about how much money that could potentially save you.

Cheaper to get one of those day-glo vests. Lots of construction people wear them. Kinda silly to be wearing a hard hat in a car. First thing I know guys do is take them off going home.

How not to get arrested? Just reading the excerpt, it sounds more like “how not to get unlawfully harassed by the police”.

never let your dog be visible in the car or they will know it is a hostage situation where multiple lives are at stake and the dog will die

Wear a hijab or a burka and have an ACLU bumper sticker.

That always works for me.For the time being. You do know we're all on The List, right?
To: fwdude
That may stop you from being convicted of a crime - but - it won’t necessarily stop you from being first hassled by the police, and then secondly, possibly arrested.
If you weren’t committing a crime, then all will work out in the end. But, you’ll probably have to spring for bail in the meantime.

The best advice is in the comments, don’t let an officer search your car. Extremely smart advice and they give the reasons why in the comments too.
What if some valet or mechanic smoked a joint in your car, or a marijuana seed or flake of cocaine fell out of his pocket in your car? What if they are looking for a suspect with a blunt instrument murder weapon and you have something in your car that matches?

If you're going to ride four deep, have one member of your car wear a highly visible item of clothing indicating what you do for a living. For instance, if you're all construction workers car-pooling on the way home from a job site, someone in the car should wear a hard hat. These guys never get arrested...
Seriously.

The audacity of the cops to think that they have a right to stop whoever they want. Anymore too many of these urban police departments are really just one more criminal gang and their behavior and their attitudes betray this fact.

What if some valet or mechanic smoked a joint in your car, or a marijuana seed or flake of cocaine fell out of his pocket in your car? Always something to consider if purchasing a used vehicle. Especially if you plan any border crossings.
