'The surviving members of comedy group Monty Python have announced their reunion will be a live, one-off show in London next July.
At a press conference, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones said they wanted to see if they "were still funny".
Idle - who will direct - said the audience should expect "comedy, pathos, music and a tiny piece of ancient sex".
The stage show will be their first new project for three decades.
It is more than 30 years since the Pythons last performed together at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in September 1980, and 40 years since they last performed on stage in the UK.
In a press release issued ahead of the conference, the comedy troupe promised to perform "some of Monty Python's greatest hits, with modern, topical, Pythonesque twists".'

‘Idle said they would also include some material that had never previously been performed live.
He said it would be “a big show” likening it to “a huge musical”, with input from choreographer Arlene Phillips.
He added that the event would be released on DVD: “We’ll be filming it and we’ll try to flog it later.”
“It’s more than just a performance - people enjoy the experience of performing with us,” said Cleese.
The 74-year-old said “at first” the gig would be “a one and only” but refused to rule out further performances.’
Hmmm, North American gigs maybe?.....
Well, I certainly didn’t expect that. But then, nobody expects...
They have a much more target rich environment now than 30 years ago.
At their age, they won’t even have to act during the “Ministry of Silly Walks” sketch!
The pythons may have their fun with the queen, but they will not insult the holy prophet.
Python is a dried-out husk of something once-funny.

Spat-alot! Monty Python stars Cleese and Idle fall out over money from West End hit
UPDATED: 04:43 EST, 15 December 2011
They became close friends after launching one of Britains best loved comedy troupes, Monty Python.
But despite a relationship that dates back to 1965 when they first met as students at Cambridge University, John Cleese and Eric Idle are now at war.
The pair are feuding after Idle, 68, this week revealed he had cut his former co-star out of the Pythonesque hit musical Spamalot and boasted he would not even take £13 million to be married to the star.
I like The Goodies better.
What, do they need the money?
My favorite is the Hermit.
I don’t know if The Goodies was ever shown in North America?.
I am a big fan of both.
looks like some of their targets will need to learn "How not to be seen".
Cleese does.
Your Humor does not get better with age....its a youth thing...I hope they can pull it off....
They showed The Goodies in the LA area about 35 years ago on what was then KCOP. I remember thinking it was a pale imitation of Python, but it was funny. Years later I found that that they had worked with various members of Python at Cambridge and on earlier shows on the BBC.
