Looks like the Affordable Care Act has another potential critic: Wal-Mart.
The discount retail giant mentioned the ACA as a potential factor that will hurt consumer spending this holiday season on an analysts press call Thursday.
"While it is not coming through in customer research, we do know that some of our customers are concerned about the impact of the Affordable Care Act," Carol Schumacher, vice president of investor relations said, according to the Wall Street Journal. "For many of our customers, having to afford health care and insurance may be another line item in their personal budget that they may not have had to cover previously."

Tough call because many WMT regulars are on the dole and will have their meds paid for anyway, I’m told. Wild card is the middle-to-lower middle class - where will their disposable income go?
Also, didn’t WallMart commit to carrying mostly products made in the USA? That may have an impact as well.
My insurance went up $150.00 p/m. Yeah. The last thing on my mind is a trip anywhere. Especially Wal Mart.
.... Gee ..... why would having to pay an extra few hundred bucks a month for the rest of your life affect holiday spending? Isn’t the ACA supposed to be good for the economy and the only thing that will end the recession? ....... Obama said so.... so it must be true ... Right! He would never lie to us would he?

Don’t know about this year, next year will surely be a Hard Candy Christmas, with all of the employer paid people getting the shaft. No Kung Fu G.I. Joe for you Billy, we have to pay for healthcare of the bums across the street.
Hey...but WalMart is running a can drive for their employees....
The Regime, pleased, will not be.
Prepare to have every time card in every single store Federally audited for “wage theft”.
My health insurance payments, beginning in January, are significantly reduced.
I’m on an employer plan, and my insurance (family) is going up $160/mo. I can’t even imagine what’s going to happen next year when the employer mandate kicks in and the risk pools are proven to be a complete sham.
The “experts” blamed the slowing economy at the beginning of 2012 on the little increase in the Social Security tax, which was virtually nothing compared to the hundreds of dollars that ObamaCare will suck out of the family budget every month in ‘14. That will be a major blow to this lackluster economy and the phantom “recovery” will be a thing of the past...just in time for next year’s elections.
If the GOP can’t win next year, they ought to hang it up as a party.
It is going to hurt all spending except Government spending. The people won’t have any money left after paying their insurance and the insurance of the welfare class. Just as planned.

Articles and discussions about Obozocare hurting Christmas sales has been avoided like noting the skin color of our leader.

Supposing that the website gets fixed by the end of November as the brain trust now promises, those Americans suddenly able to shop for insurance face a deadline of December 15 to buy coverage that will kick in by January 1, which is when most of the canceled insurance plans die.
Merry Christmas! You get to pay more of your money for, in many cases, crappier insurance.
How much more? On average, about 41% more, according to Avik Roy.
Youll be told that you should like it and that it fulfilled Obamas clear promise! Who are you gonna believe, Barack Obama or your lying ears?
Believe whichever you want, but Obamacare sticker shock could have a big negative impact on the Christmas shopping season the season that most retailers depend on to get them through the entire next year. The price increases could be enough to force millions of Americans to rethink how theyll spend for the holidays.
Are we looking at a nasty sequence of events leading to the next economic downturn here?

Americans losing their plans shop for insurance from the end of November through Dec. 15.
Sticker shock/weaker plans impact holiday shopping in its final 10 days.
