Latin America is a disaster. Between the failed states run by cartels and kakistocracies surrounding left wing asylum-cases, there are very few bright spots.

The economic rise of Brazil can be attributed in part to our own welfare to that country when it comes to oil drilling, but on the inside, it has a rotting, corrupt political structure and a population still mired in poverty along with an overcrowding problem in the cities.

Chile has fared well, but the Pinochet days are long gone and its slowly slipping back into the Allende mindset.

Colombia is the one place that I would say is a true success story. They’ve really turned that country around. I don’t agree with the president on everything, but he has taken that country back from the brink.

The worst of the bunch is Venezuela. I’m not sure if Chavez intended to give the presidency to the biggest LatAm idiot since Francisco Lopez, but regardless, he did it. From nationalizing toilet paper factories to promising HD T.V.’s to everyone, Venezuela’s time as a power player in South America is over.
