NEW MEXICO
(Excerpt) Read more at myfox8.com ...
When we went through (just a couple days before this event) there was a speed trap being run by the staters along one of the straight stretches a few miles south of Taos, and I reckon that's where they picked her up.
They come down my way and do the same sort of thing every couple months, and they fill up a motel for a few days.
They would make hay if there was a texting law here, it is seriously bad.
How do you know the cop’s life wasn’t in danger? Report said one of the “children” was 18. He or she apparently remained in the vehicle but the cop obviously saw him/her. How did the cop know there wasn’t a gun in the car? If the woman had been cooperative, none of this would have happened.
That being said, I have never heard of getting a speeding ticket and having to pay it right then or go to see a judge right then. What if you don’t have the money to pay the ticket? Do you go to jail for speeding or any other traffic infraction?
Many years ago, my husband was pulled over for speeding in South Carolina on our way to Darlington. The officer recited a little speech that went something like, ‘you have been charged and found guilty of speeding. Your fine is $50. You can pay the fine now or proceed to the courthouse and contest the charge but if again found guilty will have to pay court costs and pay the fine there’. We were blown away but also in a hurry. We paid the fine and hit the road with a better understanding why my parents always said be careful driving through the Carolinas and Georgia..
I didn’t know that being an 18 y/o passenger in a car was a threat to a cop. I also didn’t know that the mere possibility that a gun could be in a vehicle makes it OK for a cop to shoot at said vehicle that is carrying children and being driven away.
I think his entire cabinet should be impeached starting with Holder.
Blaming the victim as well as the perp. Nice.
Tell me, if it weren’t a government employee firing at the van full of kids, would you be making the “neither side” argument?
Would you be blaming the victims if the perp wasn’t a government employee?
“Blaming the victim as well as the perp. Nice.
Tell me, if it werent a government employee firing at the van full of kids, would you be making the neither side argument?”
Yes, I do find fault with both sides. She was uncooperative, twice sped away from the cops and her son attacked a cop.
You didn’t answer the question, would you fault the woman for being “uncooperative” if the perp was a non-government employee?
You are still using the government employee rationale in your argument.
“You didnt answer the question, would you fault the woman for being uncooperative if the perp was a non-government employee?”
Whatever. Next time you are pulled over for speeding with your kids in the car, yell at the cop, have your son physically attack him and then speed off. Have a nice day.
The government employee was in no danger until *he* chose to open her van door. *He* escalated the situation.
Would you blame the victim if a non-government employee opened the van door? Would you blame the victim if the son stood up for his mother and the assailant wasn’t a government employee?
Judge by actions, not occupation, the rightness or wrongness of an action.
To think you have the temerity to blame a mother for fleeing a man who has no qualms on opening fire on a van full of kids.
*shakes head*
We can’t have peasants thinking they have the right of self-preservation against government employees.
Submit or die!
(You know, that attitude seems rather familiar. Can’t place it.....)
