Unusually warm temperatures in the fall do more often than not result in a wild ride weather wise as the cold front passes.

At exactly 11:30, the wind switched from the south to out of the west and turned cold. We’re hunkered...

Cold fronts are like that. Very sharp line of demarcation.

I’m in Central NY and so far it is mild, in the 50’s, cloudy, and blustery.
I just told mr. mm that we need to batten down. Make sure anything we don’t want blown away is in the barn.

60s and raining off and on in western Pennsylvania. Bad weather coming to us tonight. Severe thunderstorms and damaging winds. Hope all the Steeler fans get home before it starts.

I would too except around here fall has been 30 degrees and snow.
I can live with 40s or 50s and even rain. Cold, snow and ice — you can keep it all.

First time I've ever seen Clifton, south of KKK, where our friends live, shown on a Weather Channel incident map....this northern wave should miss, but the one below looks spooky.
Don't think they have a basement either.

It is now all blue skies here but high winds continue with gusts over 50 mph. Three cars blown off the highway just east of here in Maryland Heights.
