MOSCOW (Reuters) - A Boeing 737 airliner crashed on landing in the Russian city of Kazan on Sunday, killing all 50 people on board, the Emergencies Ministry said.

O Master, Lord our God, Who in Thy wisdom hast created man, and didst honor him with Thy Divine image, and place in him the spirit of life, and lead him into this world, bestowing on him the hope of resurrection and life everlasting; and after he had violated Thy commandments, Thou O Gracious lover of mankind, didst descend to the earth that Thou mightest renew again the creation of Thy hands.
Therefore we pray Thee, O All-Holy Master give rest to the souls of Thy servants, whose names are not known to us, in a place of brightness, a place of green pasture, a place of repose, and, in that they have sinned in word, or deed or thought forgive them:
For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind and unto Thee do we ascribe Glory, together with Thy Father, Who is from everlasting and Thine All-Holy and good, and ever giving Spirit, now, and ever, and unto ages of ages.
Amen.
I have a feeling Boeing is going to be gone after for this. (Deep pockets as it’s perceived.) I’d be sending reps to try and read the recorders.
God receive those Souls aboard.
That’s an Airbus.
I know..but it shows the livery.
It sounds like mechanical problems is a possibility since this happened on the second attempted landing.
I know back in the mid 70s their commercial planes were refurbished from WWII. Nothing worked on them and every screw was loose or long lost. If a plane crashed on the runway, they’d pull the burned out carcass off to the edge which didn’t do anything for passenger confidence. Runways were never repaired and had trees growing out of cracks. Little ancient grandmas would fill the tank by eye so it was always a gamble if you had enough fuel to get to the destination. I’m going to assume things have improved over the years.
Hmm, from the youtube, it may have been 3 aborted landings yet maybe crew error. That doesn’t compute.
That one's already been yanked.
Here's one from RT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjUFUSeFM0Q
RIP to the victims.
