Two days after a dog bit off a woman's hand and her other arm, sources said her hands were likely eaten. And police said they had been to her home in the past for problems with the same dog.
Wilton's animal control officer had been called to the home of 65-year-old Anne Murray twice, both times on complaints that the pit bull had roamed off the property, police Lt. Don Wakeman said Wednesday.
Police have also come to Murray's home several times to arrest her 26-year-old son, Ian, according to state court records. Ian Murray was given a five-year suspended sentence after he was found guilty of a 2005 robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He was also found guilty of violating his probation in 2010 in connection with that case.
On Monday morning, a town police officer shot and killed the dog in the driveway of the home after it attacked Anne Murray.
Wakeman declined to comment on whether the 2-year-old pit bull, Tuxedo, had eaten the victim's limbs, but another law enforcement source said that most of the flesh and bone the animal ripped from the victim was not recovered at the scene. "Use your imagination as to what happened,'' the source said.
Murray lost all of one arm and the other up to the elbow in the attack, and suffered bite wounds all over her body, police said. Passing motorists saw the dog in the street and stopped to call 911. Murray was found under a car in her driveway, trying to shield herself from further attack.
Murray is recovering from her injuries at Norwalk Hospital, where her son, Matthew Murray, said Tuesday night that she was awake and hopeful of a full recovery.

At lest Ann Murray still has he voice box.
because we all know that every Pit Bull kills people every single day
seriously, get a grip people
SUV’s drive themselves and commit suicides too
At least Ann Murray has her voice box. Sorry for my haste.
Except for those missing limbs of course. I don't think she'll recover those.
{^) LOLOL! Stop! Yer killin' me!!
Yeah, as if it's not thinking like a liberal to assume just a whole lotta doggy racism in these pit bull threads! These poor pit bulls are just misunderstood!
And it's sure not like a liberal to assign the same characteristics to an inanimate weapon that works only with human guidance, to a dog with a mind of its own that has can be just as lethal as a gun.
That’s very sweet, really. But it doesn’t change the fact that if the goon hood son had had a basset hound or a toy poodle or an Irish Setter and raised it exactly the same way he raised that pit bull, his mom would very, very, very probably still have her hands. :^)
At least as I can read in the article although he seems to have lost his head. And I agree with the dog owner's comments in the piece saying any dog can be taught to be as mean. Just the other day I saw a Chihuahua wolf down somebody’s complete leg.
If that is a Pitbull, just wait till he eats a kid....you MIGHT think twice.
He is the nicest dog, and he is a dog not some kind of monster, that there ever was. When he was younger I wrestled with him. I was his chew toy. It was fun.
I was bit by a miniature pomeranian today. lol
Finger food?

Not true. I guarantee that a 100 pound Chihuahua, no matter who trained it, would be the meanest creature on the face of the planet, killing anyone which came near it’s home or yard.
Those dogs are vicious, and I ain’t joking. I’m just glad they weight only 3 pounds.
I have seen a gang of stray Chihuahua’s around here.
Nobody is scared of them of course. This morning I saw two stray dogs running up and down sniffing all the trash containers. They looked like boxers or some such.
Ok, and how many limbs did the pom eat?
I have 4 pups, 3 are shelter rescues. We got one at age 7, 5, and 10. They are chihuahuas. The 2 oldest ones came from a very abusive situation. But they are 2 of the biggest snuggle bugs ever. They never got any love being raised.
A good friend of mine had a pit bull. She loved that beast, and after he got loose twice and attacked mom and her daughter who were out for a walk, it had to be put down. She never did anything but love it, and it didn’t matter.
And I will tell you this, I would much rather take on a pom or a chi or a rat terrier or even a rottie or a husky than a pit any day.
LMAO! Borrowed that for my Facebook page.
“I can’t believe my neighbor did that... he was such a quiet man, kept to himself...I was as surprised as anyone to hear about it”
I am only concerned about small children, he might knock them over trying to lick them or... hump them.. heh.
Knuckles is not mean at all (except to a certain pomeranian who abused him as a puppy)
The only dog that ever bit me was a chihuahua. And it’s teeth did puncture my leather shoe. (Topsiders, so you know what era that was...)
And what you say is true. The pitbull’s body and jaw size make it dangerous. Same as any other comparison...I have a friend who shot a bb through his finger. Didn’t bother going to the doctor and nothing came of it.(probably not a good idea though) Also just saw a guy who shot half his finger off with a 9mm. He did go to the doctor. (and was on local anesthetic so he could watch them clip off the rough bone on the end. Nice.)
Speaking of...I’m amazed with all the the people I know who had bb gun fights, none of them were missing an eye.
