Bill Clinton's comments may have been the tipping point. Yesterday, the former president told an interviewer that the White House should keep its promise and honor its commitment on Obama's infamous "keep your plan" pledge. And if there's one person on planet earth whose reputation for honoring both the truth and personal commitments is -- ahem -- unimpeachable, it's him. Snark aside, Clinton's remarks were hugely impactful; not because he was expressing his own personal opinion, but because in doing so, he was extending a tacit permission slip to fellow Democrats. Message: It's okay to abandon Obama by starting to dismantle big parts of this law. His wife, who is widely expected to run for president, had no comment on the matter. And then, as these horrific poll numbers started to seep into the Washington bloodstream, the dam broke:
Feinstein: "I have decided to cosponsor Senator Mary Landrieus (D-La.) legislation: Keeping the Affordable Care Act Promise Act."
Feinstein: Since the beginning of Sept, I have received 30,842 calls, emails & letters..many of whom are very distressed by cancellations"
Yes, that would be liberal California Democrat Dianne Feinstein pledging to co-sponsor Mary Landrieu's iteration of the GOP's "keep your plan" legislation. The House will vote on its own version on Friday, and CNN reports that even Democratic leadership is befuddled as to how members should vote. Accordingly, Friday is now the White House's "de facto deadline" to prevent perhaps dozens of House Democrats from sprinting away from the president, shattering the party's ruthless party discipline on Obamacare in the process:
This desperation mentality is contagious, and it's exceedingly risky for Democrats.

And when the republicans oppose it, they will be castigated as being the party of "no" for not fixing the Obama "oversight."
The goal is a single payer system, and the dems are not going to get there by voting to kill Obamacare. They will just throw more money at it, which will fix this problem, and bring the inevitable single payer system to us sooner. The media will champion this solution 24/7. Anyone thinking the dems are running from Obamacare aren't thinking. The dems don't make mistakes, they make adjustments.
Looks like both the right and the left are being wobbled by their radical wings. The radical left has hegemony, put their sock puppet in the White House, and are self destructing. IF and WHEN the radical right acheive a similar hegemony in the GOP (somewhat likely) we had better damned well have studied this dynamic and not assume that we are immune from having a free field of action lead to corruption, bad triage and prioritizations, a takeover by aparatchiks, a vacuum of ideas.
Job 1 will be an assault upon banking and high risk financial instruments. Job 2 will be to roll back the idiocy of global warming. Leave immigration and the rest of the soft issues to sort themselves out over the short term. Hit the banks, reinstate Glass Steagall, put evidence out there that global warming is a fraud and the rest will sort itself out.
Terrifying, cratering poll numbers have a way of focusing even the most corrupted partisan minds.
I do feel they are looking for a way out. If they can figure a way to get out of their White Guilt for tossing a black man under the bus.
Dems arrogantly passed Boobamba/Care, without reading it, in the middle of the night, on Christmas Eve, without a single Republican vote, when nobody wanted it. Dims own it, lock, stock, and its historic, career-wrecking flopolas.
Now, we the people, who said "no way," are watching you Dims squirm, and fight each other, while destroying your careers, and your nasty frickin' party.
Please post a link to the details. I'd forgotten about that episode, though it doesn't surprise me.
They are not trying to find a way of repealing Obastardcare. They are trying to figure out a way to take the political sting out of having fed the country a crap sandwich, preferably by hanging the blame on the Republicans.
Don’t be fooled: They are as intent as ever at cramming down that sandwich.
The dims can do anything they want .My feeling is that 2 of the supposed advantages of Obamacare is covering 20-30 mil that had no insurance.
Cut $700 bil from Medicare and at the same time reduce premiums about $2500/ yr.
You don’t have to be Einstein to observe adding that many people to the rolls while cutting premiums and disbursements does not come close to logic.
I don’t want a representative stupid enough to entertain that possibility.
“.. a Democrat civil war?...”
Be still my beating heart...
Has anyone in the media, specifically the WH Press Corps, asked Jay Carney about Clinton’s comments? What was the answer?
BTW : Thomas Sowell wrote a article out the other day which explained why the shutdown was a really bad idea for the GOP to do.
Sister Soledad? Wasn’t she a CNN news babe who advocated cop killing in her rap news broadcasts. If I recall correctly, George Clinton told her to stop.
“...Wouldnt it fun to watch them kill each other for a change?...”
Yes, if it would stop there.
But it wouldn’t; It’s in their nature to disrupt, wreck, ruin, and pretty much f*** up everything that works and all they touch.
They are psychotics at the end of the day. Mentally unbalanced and unstable.
Children with weapons, temper tantrums, and “zero tolerance” for anything except their own warped world view.
