From PAULA BOLYARD's wonderful article on pjmedia.com:Compare and Contrast: Leno Interviewing Obama and Cruz
Does Jay have a double standard? On Friday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz made his first appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Leno, allegedly in his last season as host of the Tonight Show, has not been known as a particularly partisan entertainer,
so it was surprising to see him go "Candy Crowley" on Ted Cruz...-- snip --
...Some on Twitter compared Leno to a prosecuting attorney as he interrupted Cruz and accused him
of everything from shutting down the government to wanting violent psychopaths to have guns.Cruz, for his part, used the appearance to his advantage, clearly understanding both the venue and the audience. It seemed to go over well with the audience, which erupted into cheers after several of Cruzs points...
Although Cruz is certainly more than capable of holding his own in a debate with Leno,
he chose mostly to keep his powder dry, defying the media-generated image of him as a hostile aggressor.
He was relaxed and laid back, despite the tough questioning.THIS THREAD will help to review, analyze and document that historic event. :)
Please feel free to add YOUR positive comments and suggestions.
And who knows, the folks at TEAM CRUZ might actually READ what you post here. ;)
...FReeper Loud Mime's WONDERFUL PHOTO of him speaking to the Politichicks, and others at that PRIVATE event...From politichicks.tv/about:
Could you tell how much of the applause for Ted was spontaneous from non FReepersIt's hard to say.
and how much was driven by the applause from FReepers?
We, of course, LED the cheering and applause......but the THUNDEROUS ROAR that you hear is coming from...
...FAR MORE people than just the 20 or 30 of us who were there.
It sure did sound like much more than just 20 or 30 people and I didn’t hear any boos or other jeers coming from the audience. Only cheers of agreement.
Ann-Marie Murrell . . and . . Dr. Gina LoudonThe PolitiChicks now have a SHORT VIDEO from the "after party" posted here:
PolitiChicks Exclusive With Sen. Ted Cruz
In perpetuating the false narrative being disseminated by the democRATs and the complicit liberal media, Leno laid blame on the Republicans for shutting down the government. Cruz missed a golden opportunity to inform millions of Americans that on September 20, 2013, Continuing Resolution (H.J. Res. 59) was passed by a vote in the House of 230-189. It would have kept the government running at current spending levels. The shutdown was caused by Harry Reid and senate democRATs who would not bring it up for a vote. Opportunity squandered.
I am glad that Leno asked hard questions because the voters have hard questions and Ted answered them all beautifully. With regard to his not responding to the Obamacare is law query with a reference to slavery being law, I am sure he thought the potential danger of that response was just too great.
I thought the Good Senator from Texas did quite well for himself with Leno.
Calm, cool, collected... even though Leno tried to go “gotcha”.
Cruz missed a golden opportunity to say "Slavery was once the law in America, too, Jay" in response to "it's the law" comments by Leno regarding 0bamacare.
Several dozen FReepers (and FRiends) met with Senator Cruz after his appearance on the "Tonight Show."SECURITY for this "after party" was provided by Glen Ratcliff and his Event Staffing Professionals, Inc....
...seen here with in Loud Mime's photo with Senator Ted Cruz and FReeper PopModal (aka JEFFERS DODGE).
>”Pray America will wake up”<
It’s been five years, nobody is waking up.
The Democrats and the Media are keeping America in a Kool Aid induced Coma.
Wonderful job with this entire thread!
Thank you so much, Ron Dog.
Megyn Kelly had no idea about y’all in the audience. Bless her heart.
:)
Wonderful job with this entire thread!Thank you, onyx - and you're welcome!Thank you so much, Ron Dog.
Our PALIN/Leno FReep was more fun, though, since the "Good Jay" showed up for that one.
This time it felt more like "damage control." :(If our undercover "special forces" had not been there IN FORCE for this show...
...the "Bad Jay" may have been able to sway more of the non-poltical types into an anti-Cruz rout.
The audience was also behind him.At least, MOST of us were - and he knew it. :)
His people told him that we would have a "presence" there......but as he told us later, he REALLY knew "we had his back" from the first moment that he came out...
...and saw one of our guys in the front wearing an AMERICAN FLAG jacket. ;)
