Thousands Of Small Businesses Will Also Start Losing Their Current Health Policies Under Obamacare

Full title: Thousands Of Small Businesses Will Also Start Losing Their Current Health Policies Under Obamacare. Here's Why

President Obama’s simple line “If you like your current health plan you can keep it” is haunting him amidst reports that 3.5 million Americans who purchase health plans on their own, in the “individual” market, have lost that coverage as a result of Obamacare.

Very soon, small businesses will be faced with a similar fate.

They will also see their health plans canceled as a result of Obamacare.

Small businesses, with fewer than 50 employees, are not forced to provide coverage under Obamacare.

But when they do, policies sold in the small group market are subject to the same regulations now forcing the termination of millions of health plans sold directly to consumers.

But late last year, businesses that employed fewer than 50 employees began exploiting a loophole they found in the Obamacare text. If the businesses renewed their policies early, before the end of 2013, then those plans would not be subject to Obamacare’s costly mandates for a full year, in many cases until December 31, 2014.

But that clock is already ticking. Starting in October 2014, many employees of small businesses will start getting the same notices that are now being mailed to individuals, informing that their existing health plans are also being cancelled.

These small businesses will be faced with a bleak choice.

Find another policy that’s compliant with Obamacare, but also more costly. Or put their employees into the Obamacare exchange.

The purpose of Obamacare is to totally eliminate small businesses. The big-government/big-corporate criminal complex doesn’t want the competition. They don’t care if the pie gets smaller. They just want the whole pie.

I am a partner in a small law firm (5 lawyers, 6 support staff). We have always taken good care of our people, and have had very little turnover in the past 15 years. I don’t think our folks will find any humor in being forced out of their current coverage.

I own a business that employs 20 people, this would include us. If I renew in 2013 I can keep the health insurance we provide now for our employees for one year. After that I have to buy Obama approved insurance. My health insurance guy tells me that our premiums will go up a minimum of 49% for a inferior policy. My employees and I would like to purchase health insurance from a private insurance company but it will soon be against the law. Does anybody think that this remotely resembles America all up in here? Apology not accepted Mr. Obama you lying SOB.

This article only talks about PREMIUMS going up as much as 50%.

No mention what ever about increased deductibles, co-pays and out of pocket expenses.

Any article that excludes mention of these other elements is mendacious, ignorant or both.

If someone could explain this to me...I get that only businesses with less than 50 employees do not have to provide insurance, but those that do will have to provide policies with that include the coverage mandates and those that don’t will be cancelled.
My confusion:
Why do the coverage mandates not include larger businesses with 50 or more employees? How do they escape having to include the coverage mandates ie prenatal etc. Most large company policies do cover prenatal already and some have limited and more generous mental health policies, but pediatric dental is not usually a given. Are large companies now exempt from having to offer that?

My presumption was that their policies would be rewritten to include the new mandates, and that their premiums would go up. They would either require employees to contribute a greater amount, or they would buy crappier policies with very high deductibles to keep the costs in check.

My neighbor is a clerk at a Thornton's Convenience store ( Thornton's has about 130 stores in their chain.)

She recently received a notice that They will NO LONGER be offering insurance to employees beginning Jan 1, 2014. She had been paying $38 dollars a month and was happy with her little inexpensive plan which is now gone with the wind.

Relax folks. It’s all part of the Obama plan. First destroy the private insurance industry that serves small businesses and individuals. Then let Big Doctor Obama step into the rubble and save all the sick and helpless.

Subsidies will grease the skids to socialized medicine. The RINOs in Washington are talking about subsidizing the people who lost their coverage under Obamacare. The subsidies are EXACTLY what the Big Doctor wants. The payments will get bigger until the middle-man (insurance) is no longer necessary. Socialized medicine will be upon us.

Lie back and enjoy it, folks.

Big companies have the same ACA mandates too, unless they have one of those Friends of Obama exceptions. It will get much, much worse.
