WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Obama administration's HealthCare.gov adviser Jeffrey Zients said on Friday that the trouble-plagued federal healthcare website is improving, but that higher volumes of visitors are exposing new capacity and software issues.
In a conference call with reporters, Zients said progress this week has been marred by roadblocks. He described HealthCare.gov as being "a long way from where it needs to be."

there is no way in the world that everything will be working on Nov 30
when that statement was made (Oct 25 approx), if they have all the changes ready to go, the time to nov 30 would not have been long enough to test such a complicated system
Mr Zeinst is getting a crash course in what happens when you put big IT projects into production w/o proper testing (in this case almost no testing)
once they get the website working better, they will get enough volume to expose the problems with the data hub, connections to insurance companies
etc
we are watching one of the most spectacular big IT project fails of all time

aside from the website problem, I don’t see how they overcome the following.
my sister is on ssdi. she lives at, what we call in Massachusetts, elderly/disabled housing. I am her guardian, so i’m quite familiarly with her friends and neighbors.
what I can tell you is this, these people, both the disabled and the elderly (i’m not saying the elderly have not earned what they have), are totally taken care of by the government...housing, food stamps, medicare, obamaphone, ss checks. they have been taken care of for so long they have zero initiative to do anything on their own.
now, the people i’m referring to have medicare, so they’re not the ones who need oabamcare, but you can see that if they needed to, they wouldn’t even bother. they have had all ambition removed from their lives. they sit around all day (btw, let me be clear, im talking about the elderly, most of the so called disabled I’ve met would be perfectly capable of holding down a job if they were not catered to).

I apologize, I meant to say above “I am NOT talking about the elderly.

Just wait until the system becomes self aware :) No worries.
It's going to be the dumbest self-aware entity in the universe when it does.

I’m wondering if the people in charge of “fixing” it, really don’t want it to be fixed. Maybe the fixers see the handwriting on the wall for their own personal health insurance.
