Enrollments nearly tripled between Oct. 14 and Nov. 2. Expectations are for increased enrollment before Dec. 15 deadline.
Still, the bulk of the 10,940 plans purchased in the first month are covered through the government-backed health programs of MinnesotaCare and Medical Assistance. Just 1,744 people have signed up for private plans.
Sign-ups from small businesses are much lower. Of the small business accounts opened, 17 have completed enrollment and 10 are in process, according to MNsure.

Need to bury reporters with the question: how many of those that signed up were uninsured when they signed, and how many already had insurance and are changing. Many people are changing insurance especially because ObamaCare is forcing them.

A year from now they will be getting letter from the exchanges that their coverage is being dropped.
They’re not sure it’s going to work, but they are getting some tax money from it, so I guess it’s OK.

And that should have been the real headline. The other 9,200 are the ones the taxpayers are giving free medical care to. About a 6 to 1 ratio of moochers to payers. That’s not gonna work out too well. And all this optimism about so many more people signing up by December is probably not going to alter that ratio very much, meaning that the more people who sign up, the more the state taxpayers are screwed.
