Poll: 78% of Uninsured Not Interested in ObamaCare

A new Gallup poll brings more terrible news for President Obama and his signature health plan, showing that only 22% of uninsured Americans intend to buy insurance through the ObamaCare exchanges.

One of the major selling points for using ObamaCare to disrupt our health care system (that polls showed up to 80% of Americans were satisfied with) was to insure the uninsured. But according to this poll, only a very small minority of that small minority is even interested in obtaining insurance.

Even more troubling is the realization that a month ago, that number was double; a full 44% of the uninsured said they would purchase insurance though the exchanges.

Over the course of a month, however, the reality of ObamaCare scared off half of that 44%

If one were to believe that the purpose of Obamacare was to provide health insurance to the uninsured, this would be a disaster.

But since the true purpose of Obamacare is to implement socialism and raise the level of government control over individuals, it is simply an interesting factoid.

In one month half the uninsured who were planning to take the obamaCAIR plunge have decided they won’t. That’s very encouraging.

Therefore, the “problem” that they were trying to solve was not the problem that they stated they were trying to solve...

The “problem” was that they couldn’t use the power of the State to deny healthcare to their political enemies.

“I’ll bet 75% of the “low-information” crowd don’t even know they’ll be fined if they don’t sign up.”

They’ll find out when it’s deducted from their refunds...just in time for the 2014 campaign season.

Did you know Old MacDonald was a bad speller?

Very good.

Another “very good” is the Real Clear Politics Average just up that puts O finally at -10 — due to a Pew Research poll coming in at -17. Go take a gander.

I want this atrocity of 0dumb0Care to crash & burn and if necessary take the country down as well, if it means that we can charge & prosecute & imprison 0dumb0, Holder, Hitlary, Sebellious, Reid & Pelosi! Actually the entire top 3 levels of 0dumb0's entire administration deserve to be serving 50 years in prison for treason!

Until their Earned Income Tax Credit doesn't show up because their tax refund has been confiscated to pay the fine.

THAT will be fun to watch when it starts happening on a large scale.

It was used as a weapon for class warfare and more racial division. “There are millions out there who don’t have health insurance, a basic human right.” “Single mOthers all over the country have to decide whether they want to feed their family or have healthcare.”

I was insured under an individual catastrophic plan that got cancelled and the 3 optional replacement plans I was offered were ridiculously expensive for what amounted to no coverage.

I told them to pound sand and I'll be running naked from 12/31/13 forward.

If that means just not filing tax returns from that point, so be it.

You make an interesting point...what are the time deadlines...I know most of these folks file immediately in January...to get the EIC...every street corner in the ‘hood sprouts a “fast tax” office..

People may be “stupid”, but they’re not *that* stupid. If a person is struggling with lodging, utilities, food, & gas, they are at least smart enough to know that they cannot afford what amounts to an extra car payment- or even mortgage payment, each month.

Only a democrat believes that money (or whatever utterly unreasonable demand they want at any given time) can just be materialized out of thin air because they’ve made the demand.

In short, they live in a fantasy world.

“only a very small minority of that small minority is even interested in obtaining insurance”

And most of them will wind up in Medicaid because they won’t meet the income test for the actual insurance policies.

So here’s the risk pool in the exchanges:

People with pre-existing conditions
Pregnant women
Men with prostate or ED issues
Substance abusers
People with mental health issues
People who qualify for subsidies
New Medicaid enrollees

Sounds like a winner to me. Anyone want to short health care provider stocks?

BINGO! A poll taken a month or so ago (can't recall the pollster, but it was widely reported) showed that 69% of young adults did not know they were mandated to purchase insurance or pay a penalty. Presumably with all the hoopla, more are aware of that fact by now, but possibly not.
