Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius testifies before the Senate Finance Committee on the federal insurance exchange website and other issues related to the Affordable Care Act.
Her testimony comes exactly one week after she appeared before the House Energy and Commerce Committee where she apologized to the public for what she called the "debacle." Secretary Sebelius and other administration officials have said that problems with the healthcare.gov website will be fixed by the end of this month.
During her testimony today, she talks about the progress being made in that effort. Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) chairs the committee while Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) serves as the ranking member.
Orrin Hatch. No passion. No fire. Needs to spend more time with his family.
No Oath!!!
I think that was “passion” for Orrin Hatch from what I have seen of him. He outlined the issues in his opening, but am hoping he can muster more “passion” in the questioning.
Noticed her reaction to his words though she was not happy.
you are right - there was no oath. Recall from another hearing when they said their rules stated that if it is considered an “oversight” hearing, there is an oath. It is possible that each committee has different rules. ??
I don’t expect to see any fire or passion from any Senator. Their exclusive club does not allow it.
Hatch lied face to face to TGO,Mark Levin
- “whut we got heah is a failure to communicate!”
Best hope for passion lies with Enzi, Thune and possibly Toomey.
Notice Sebelius mentions that a “delay” doesn’t help anyone. People without insurance now would not be helped, etc.
That was the House committee that made that explanation when they swore her in, IIRR.
Sibelius, still selling it. No accountability, let’s just move on. The same players getting by with lies, making the same mistakes, hiding the truth, over and over and over.
I did miss the witness being sworn in ???!!!
Kathleen seems a little despondent, maybe breaking?
Response to question about ‘punch list’.
Sebelius seems to have been reading ‘Websites for Dummies’ in her response, which is muddled and convoluted — because she has no idea what the real status of the website is.
If you lose c-span or if you want to see another perspective the link below is on a few seconds delay up to about a minute (in case you want to hear an answer again)

None of this means a hill of beans if the witness in not under oath. A dog and pony show
“Kathleen seems a little despondent”
her nose looks blue; under the glasses;
maybe it is the lighting
her mouth is crooked
maybe she is having a little stroke
Absolutely no animation and her lips are fixed. Could a resignation be in her near future?
Her lack of knowledge (which could be incriminating) is showing and I am no expert.
A Hitllary stroke?
