The rolling stop sign violation is engineered for the purpose of providing probable cause, as are many traffic laws. The public thinks they are being protected, the LE establishment just snickers at them and uses the law for what it was intended: Subverting the 4th amendment.
Ha! I got stopped (on a municipal street) for running a “stop sign” in a grocery store parking lot.
LEO said he was going to let me off with a verbal warning. I asked him if, since I appeared to violate the code, he would go ahead and issue me the citation.
He declined to issue the citation.
