U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday said the Justice Department has not decided whether to file federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman in the 2012 killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman, a volunteer neighborhood watchman who shot and killed Martin in an incident that captured national interest, was acquitted of murder charges in July. But the Justice Department could still pursue a federal civil rights case.
Holder said the agencys investigation is under way.
I'm not sure exactly how much longer that will take, but we will get to a point where we are able to make a determination, he told reporters at an unrelated news conference at the agencys headquarters.
Holder, during an April speech to Al Sharptons National Action Network, pledged to take appropriate action if the agency finds evidence of a potential federal civil rights crime in the Zimmerman case.
However, he has since cautioned that the Justice Department faces a very high barrier in pursuing federal criminal charges in such cases.
On Monday, he noted that the courts had already weighed in Zimmermans case.
"The case of George Zimmerman and what happens there I think a substantial part was resolved in the case that was tried," Holder said.
Holders only concern now is âfast and Furiousâ...lol...He lied under oath and he knows that if nothing has come of that yet....He’s home free to play the regime’s game
If fedgov brings charges, they’ll time it for maximum effect on the 2014 elections.
If you like your race baiting Attorney General, you can keep him...PERIOD.
My thoughts exactly - they need to give the press an out to cover something other than Obamacare. This might just be it.
The Feds have squat against Zimmerman.

That’s not true. Angela Corey presented evidence that Zimmerman was guilty of refusing to allow himself to be beat to death by a black YUTE. I believe that such refusal is considered criminal and racist by Eric Holder’s Department of Injustice.
Holder doesn’t need to win. He just needs to fan the race war flames and get the Obamacare lies off the front page.
Gay non-discrimination... Amnesty... George Zimmerman... rapprochement with Iran... McAuliffe...
On what grounds?
Hold’em is going to hold that over Mister Zimmerman’s head as long as Hold’em is in office. He already knows that there are no charges possible so that the next best thing is to keep threatening.
He'll charge him if instructed so to do.The order will be given if Osama Obama feels that he might benefit in any way. This kind of situation is covered in pages 225-232 of "Rules For Radicals".
I’ve got that S&W model, but in .40 short and weak.
Trigger like a gas pump.
It’s an abuse of power for Holder to keep this “investigation” open. There is nothing there. I hope GZ can take some legal action to force Holder to put up or drop it.
None of those sons of b’s in Washington are going to do anything to Holder. Those politicians are only interested in keeping their jobs, their pensions, and all the perks associated with their offices.
Adults, back in the Spite House? Would Obama allow that?
Why hasn`t a investigative reporter looked into Trayvon Martin`s background? Get to the bottom of his fighting skills, and all the stuff that the court would not allow in evidence?
Peru? No No NO!
Joren van der Sloot is imprisoned in Peru. Let's not give the Left the opportunity to equate the two, even in location only.

But, but I thought Saint Skittles was 19, not old enough for a hand gun. I’m sure this was just a mistake.
I have better pics than that, truth be told.
It was nice not hearing from the two idiots Trayvon and Zimmerman. Damn it just had to end and another story appears. Yuk. I can’t wait until these two are never heard of ever again.
