Sarah Palin may be once again dreaming of the White House and a run for the presidency in 2016.
After a long absence from the political arena, Palin appears to be strategically increasing her appearances and speeches while also taking solid aim at President Obama. This has led many political experts to conclude that she is aiming to enter the 2016 presidential race, or at least is trying to test the waters for a potential run.
The rumors kicked up a bit this week when a spokesman for the Rev. Billy Graham announced that Sarah Palin will be a guest for the reverends 95th birthday. Graham still carries great political sway, so much in fact that Mitt Romney carved out time to meet with Graham in the final days of the 2012 presidential race in the hopes of earning a public endorsement and assuring conservative voters.
Grahams birthday celebration is also drawing other big names in the conservative world, including real estate mogul Donald Trump.
Sarah Palin has also taken her political tour to Iowa, one of the most important states for Republican hopefuls. On November 9 Palin is slated to speak at the annual banquet for the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, an important conservative and evangelical group.
After spending a long stretch away from the spotlight, Palin is also ramping up her political attacks on President Obama in what could be the groundwork for her 2016 platform.
In a Facebook post entitled Obamas Debt Default is on His Shoulders While We Shoulder His Impeachable Offenses, she placed the blame for the debt limit fight solely on Obamas shoulders.
Defaulting on our national debt is an impeachable offense, and any attempt by President Obama to unilaterally raise the debt limit without Congress is also an impeachable offense, Palin wrote.
If Sarah Palin is planning a 2016 presidential run, she will have even more ammunition to boost her resume in the coming weeks. On November 12, three days after her planned speech in Iowa, Palin will be released a book taking on the conservative-friendly topic of the War on Christmas.
Pain promises that in the book titled Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas she will tell you how to fight back against those politically correct Scrooges who seem to hate not just a beautiful holiday, but an entire faith.
Sarah Palin is still a long way from an official 2016 presidential run, however, and likely wouldnt declare any intention to run for several months.
If we’re going by motions....Sarah’s in Iowa the ninth With Lee and this is keeping Cruz front and center ..who she supports along with Lee.
She was supporting Cruz at the Veterans Memorial....etc etc etc....we often see her with Cruz and Lee....that should speak volumes to those who watch “Motions”.
Settle down. She made her big announcement the day before her movie was released on DVD which cost the director, producers, etc a ton of money. I wasn’t picking on your warrior princess; I was making a joke about some overly invested FReepers. Apparently you were one of them.
If your immediate reaction to every comment you disagree with is spittle flecked name calling maybe you should reconcider your approach to interpersonal relations.
Keep it up Sarah, you drive the neocons and libs crazier.
It’s not easy to dismiss. Palin was the first leader to come out since Reagan to really instill in me the belief that America might actually be salavageble. Seeing how she was visciously treated and attacked by both the media and her so-called “allies” in the GOP, it only confirmed my worst views of what America has descended and decayed to. Politics is becoming an increasingly moot subject. The GOP even moreso.

Yes.
:)
I have been saying that for years. By the time I get to vote in the primaries all my horses are out. All primaries need to be with 60 days of each other and rotate who goes first. Dump NH, IA, and SC hold on these spots.
Not just them. The entire field was still in after she left. Herman Cain didn’t withdraw for another two months and he was the earliest. So yeah, all the conservative alternatives were knocked out. Except they weren’t.
Motorhome/bus is much more comfortable and convenient.
I am with you on the team, but Id reverse the ticket. I think Cruz is the more presentable and articulate because of his brilliant legal mind and I think Sarah is the right person to turn the office of VP into an active and engaged position instead of a person who mainly just goes to state funerals around the world.
Good points.
Wonder if anyone has ever run for VP twice ?
An intelligent comment. THANK YOU!
I don’t think you read what I wrote carefully - I didn’t say Palin laughed, I said Obama laughed.
What I think, personally, is that Palin would have had the White House in 2012 if she wanted it. And I think she had done all of the prep for the previous two years to actually run. The country was primed and straining at the bit to vote for her, and she would have won in a landslide.
And, BTW, I would have voted for her.
But at the last second, she walked away. And when she did, that act created a giant sucking psychological vacuum letdown in conservatives that still resonates today. No other conservative candidate could fill that sudden lack of air in the time left before the election, and that’s why Obama won again.
So why did Palin do it? If it was to help Obama, it’s easy to see that effect in what she did. If it wasn’t to help Obama, then what was the reason? Was she threatened? If so, and she caved, okay, I understand, but that’s that for her running for president - I imagine every presidential candidate since Washington has been threatened behind the scenes. It’s part of the job.
If she wasn’t threatened, and she wasn’t helping Obama, then... why?
It’s politics. There’s always a why. And the why is always hardball. I just want to know what it is.
And she does have a pretty face, and that does make people let their guard down and not ask hard questions - it’s just a fact. So for pointing it out, and warning not to lose critical thinking, I should be thanked. After all, do I have to warn you about Pelosi? See? So your welcome.
Fair enough.
I think the democrats and the media drove her to exhaustion and the stress of their constant hounding and lying may have been too much.
Her explanation of moving out of the limelight for the sake of her state was something I found respectable, but her resignation speech was a poor effort and left a shadow over her.
Oh, bullshit. People went to prison -- Republicans rightly went to prison -- because of corruption with oil companies, partly becuase of Palin's leadership. Damned right the oil companies don't like Palin, and of course they want to convince everybody they can how "bad" she is. Tough luck.
There was no "tax." It was essentially a land use fee based on the going price of oil, and the land belongs to Alaskans. That's a state's thing, Alaska alone is about one quarter the size of the continental US. I guess you think oil companies shouldn't have to pay to use that land? Or that if it does, it should go to the politicians?
All I have to say is that the nature of Palin's enemies, people who must deliberately misrepresent facts again and again, over the years, even, right here on FR, in order to convince people (and themselves) that Palin isn't good enough ... says more about Palin's enemies and their motivations, than it does about Palin -- at least those of us who've actually independently investigated the things in pursuit of the "light of truth," and see the sneaky deceit in the charges, like windflier, who did such a good job a few posts ago once again explaining to thinking folks why the "quitter" meme is just ... blantantly false.
No matter how much I like her, I wouldn't deliberately deceive like that to push Palin or to fight her enemies. Pure truth is the best weapon against Romney and Rove and all of them. But when it's Palin ... how come so many should-be respected fellow conservatives indulge in that kind of deceit here?
A mystery for the ages, I guess.
As I see it that was then this is now........
Like it or not we know this is what we have to work with....rehashing the past is not helpful to the win we need ahead. Rather we need to acknowledge it’s all crooked and devise the path needful to take through it to win.....we cannot keep griping about how the media treated her....they have knew targets and Sarah is getting behind them...as she said of Cruz and Lee...”They need our help”...and she has clearly shown she is supporting them.
If or not they decide to appoint Sarah to the administration remains to be seen....we have to win this election first or it really is over......how this run up ebbs and flows will give us a good idea if or not the GOP are going to throw Christy or Jeb at us...right now that’s exactly who the media is promoting.......
I just hate to see all the old arguements about Sarah being re-run here yet again.....she’s doing what she wants to do and I am supporting her efforts in doing just that. But she is not going to run no matter how much people want her to.
Yes, I can see that.
Especially if your goal is to convince a lot of suckers that you are running when you are not.
The people who fund and blindly support liberals and third party candidates.
You know you need a /s tag for some here.
It’s so apparent Palin is supporting Cruz and Lee........she needs to be given room to do what she’s doing.....she knows what the risk is in this election.
If people remember she was not easy on those who set her up as some female Goddess... and basically blew them off when they whined about her not running. When she announced not running she was already moving forward and invited others to move forward or remain wallowing in their tears......some are still there and just can’t let go of their dream.
I enjoy her and her work and will support her efforts to back Cruz and Lee......she knows they are exactly what we need at the top.
