holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Heavenly Father,

You alone are worthy of all honor, glory, praise, and blessing. Help each of us to present our bodies to you as a living sacrifice. Thank you for making us holy and acceptable because of Christ's shed blood for us. 

Make us useful in this life, Lord, and help us to have hearts of love for those who are lost and perishing.

Grant our precious military men and women the boldness to share the Gospel with those who are lost. Even though some may attempt to silence them, let them speak the truth to others in love. Give them the heart of love that our Savior has so that they may influence those who come into their paths throughout the world.

May Israel and its people be blessed, Father, and may there be plentiful laborers to help bring in the abundant harvest of souls.

We love You, Lord, and we worship You in Spirit and in truth. May Your Name be glorified in our lives this week as we set forth to do Your will and to share Your love with everyone we meet. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who straggled into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
