Other Wyoming politicos who’ve tried to stay above the fray have found themselves drawn into the feud, notably Alan Simpson, the former Republican senator known for his crotchety demeanor. The Cheneys and the Simpsons were at a charity gala in Cody, Wyoming, when Lynne Cheney—Liz’s mother, Dick’s wife, and a writer of racy novels—allegedly approached Simpson and told him to “shut your mouth.” Simpson’s daughter-in-law posted about the incident on her Facebook page, and the local press picked up the story. Lynne issued a statement asserting that the interaction “simply did not happen.”
This denial apparently sent Simpson into a rage.

Wow the progressive magazine “The Atlantic” is doing a hit piece on Cheney (along with adding kind words for Enzi). The GOPe, Mitch McConnell, the progressive Democrats and their propaganda mouthpieces (such as The Atlantic) are joining in the fray. I guess they don’t want strong conservative reinforcements such as Liz Cheney joining Ted Cruz in the Senate.
I’m more guilty of being in a perpetual senior moment.
(Liz) Cheney is one of two daughters of former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Second Lady Lynne Cheney (née Vincent); Cheney attended elementary school and Junior High in Casper, Wyoming. The family split time between Casper and Washington DC in the 1970s through the '80s following her father's election to Congress. [5] Cheney graduated from McLean High School (1984), where she was a cheerleader. She received her bachelor's degree from Colorado College, where she wrote her senior thesis, "The Evolution of Presidential War Powers," (1988).[3] She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School (1996), having also taken courses in Middle Eastern history at the Oriental Institute.[6]
Cheney is married to Philip Perry. They were married in Wyoming in 1993. She and Perry have five children: three daughters—Kate, Elizabeth, and Grace—and two sons, Philip and Richard.
That being said, I believe that she is, at the very least, sympathetic to homosexual marriage.
She will “evolve” her position as soon as she wins. I think we can count on it.
