Of all the lame attempts to explain away President Obama's oft-repeated Obamacare lie that "if you like your plan, you can keep it," Melissa Harris-Perry might have come up with the most hilarious: President Obama figured people wouldn't like it!

Yes, that's what MHP actually asserted on her MSNBC show this morning, claiming the Obama administration figured people wouldn't like their plans, and would clamor for the ones offered under Obamacare. Of course the argument still leaves Obama as having lied. Even if if a majority of people with private plans didn't like them, that would still leave millions being forced out of plans they did like. So Obama would still have lied, albeit on a smaller scale.

I've been noticing a slow shift from the blame game to the excuse game from these people. Having them blame others for Obamacare failures fall flat, it seems they have decided to gamble with excuse making to explain the lies and failures.

He coulda said "If you like your plan, you can keep it, but we know you're gonna to want to drop your plans like hot potatoes once you see how great our plans are."

But he didn't include any qualifiers with his promise. So, yeah, he still lied.

What he meant was most people would not want to keep their plans because they would want more spendy plans that paid for other people’s birth control, abortions, maternity care, etc.

After all, the sheeple gave him a mandate that they wanted what he wanted, ergo his plans that would cover stuff that was previously not covered and remove stuff that was only needed by men or old people.

If it were indeed true that Obamacare is so much better and that people would prefer it, than there would be no need to outlaw free market insurance plans on the grounds that they're "not good enough". Obamacare could just compete with those plans, and being the superior product, would easily win.

Pah. They knew damn well that nobody would want their crap, and so structured the law to force people to buy it anyway.
